SPE Chapter of Bashkir State University (Ufa, Russia) invites students, PhDs and young specialists to participate in the second edition of “SPE BG Symposium”.
SPE BG Symposium – is a great opportunity to share your experience with other students from different countries and universities. We believe, that sharing the knowledge of modern oil and gas industry is a key to strengthen international relationship and tolerant world.
This year it is going to be the second edition of "SPE BG Symposium". Last year, we have more than 90 participants from different parts of the world: Russia (Ufa, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan, Tuymen, Tomsk, Krasnodar), Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Atyrau), India, Namibia, Zambia, Canada, Nigeria, Tanzania.
SPE BG Symposium gives you opportunity to participate in the paper contest in the sections:
Oil and Gas Service (Drilling, Geophysics, Petrophysics, Instrument engineering and automation, complex repair of wells)
Development of oil and gas fields (Production, Enhanced oil recovery, Offshore and arctic petroleum engineering)
Oil and Gas transportation
Oil and Gas refining and petrochemicals
Petroleum economics and management

To take part in the symposium you have to submit your abstract (you can find abstract requirements below) on our official website

Some Events:
Technical Sessionmeans an actual lecture from speakers working for one of the top-company. This representative will tell about modern technologies, innovations inventing in Petroleum and Gas area. A purpose of Technical Session is getting source knowledge.
Soft Skills Trainingis focused on the improvement of communicative, management and soft skills which will help students to build their future career. This training will be useful for all Symposium participants and will interest them as well.
SPE Round Tableis one of the most important Symposium Event. Its aim is exchanging different chapters’ experiences, making contacts between student chapters from Russia and other countries.
One of the most efficient Events during our Symposium is a business game “Oil Barrel”. There is increasing knowledge in untraditional way that leads to better comprehension of information. Another target of “Oil Barrel” is identification the most united team, which is able to work together. Please note that the team can be considered as a team if there is from 3 to 5 people from each chapter.
This Game will be organized by Kazan Federal University SPE Student Chapter.
Field Trip.Under the initiative of the Bashkir State University administration, it was suggested to get acquainted with unique natural landmarks of the Republic of Bashkortostan. There are three main areas known as Western, South and Mountain. During the field trip, you will find out Shikhani mountains, Kuk-Karakuk waterfall and amazing blue lake and discuss nature with professional HALLIBURTON geologist.

Ufa is one of the largest economic, cultural, sporting, scientific and religious centers of Russia, an important transport node. In 2015 Ufa will host the summits of the Shanghai cooperation organization and BRICS.
The city of Ufa is situated on the banks of the White river, at the confluence of the rivers Ufa and Dema, Pribilski fine-undulating plain, 100 km West of the ridges of the southern Urals. Lies mainly in the interfluve of the rivers Belaya and Ufa in Ufa Peninsula. Ufa is the third longest city in Russia after Sochi and Volgograd, and one of the five largest cities of Russia. Ufa is the most spacious city-millionaire Russia, per inhabitant 698 m2 urban area (2010).
In accordance with the Rating of the quality of the urban environment, compiled by the Ministry of regional development of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of engineers, the Federal Agency for construction and housing and communal services, the Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare, as well as Moscow state University. M. C. University in 2012 Ufa took 10th place.
The basis of the economy Ufa amount of energy and machine-building complexes. In Ufa are about 200 large and medium industrial enterprises. In 2013 Ufa took the 7th place in the ranking of the 250 largest industrial centers of Russia.
Ufa is one of the most modern and Russia's largest oil refinery complexes. The depth of oil processing is higher than the Russian average and is 84,9 %..
In Ufa have their offices and representative offices of major oil and gas and oilfield service companies, such as Bashneft, Gazprom, Rosneft, LUKOIL, Schlumberger, Bashneftegeofizika.
Requirements for abstracts:
1. Abstracts must be written in English
2. Abstracts must fit in one list of Microsoft Word document
3. Amount of the text should not exceed 300 words
The Title of any abstract should contain:
1) Your University, city, country
2) The title of your work
3) The Authors
4) Contact e-mails
5) The name of your research supervisor and his scientific degree
