Internship Profile for Social Media
Placement Description
This internship will be placed in the context of the Communications department, but will also address audience development. The primary task of the internship is to be in charge of updating and managing the Manifesta Biennial social media platforms for M10 by following our social media strategy for each one (Facebook, VKontakte, Twitter, Instagram, Flikr, Vimeo, Youtube). Manifesta understands the importance of social media for gathering the broadest possible audience, particularly on a local level. This role will be vital in helping Manifesta to achieve its social media and audience development targets. The social media strategy is based on how different social groups use various social media, and how specific information needs to be thoughtfully tailored accordingly and posted billingually (Russian and English).
Intern’s main tasks;
· Supporting the Manifesta Foundation and M10 in enlarging visibility in both Russia and internationally by making the social media, accurate and readable.
· Researching and identifying different target groups locally and suggesting ways of gathering support
within these different communities via social media therefore creating awareness about M10.
· Collecting, managing and uploading posts from each department who will also be encouraged to devise and send in their own posts.
· Developing new creative ideas for posts eg. competitions, posts of the day, quotes to encourage
discussion, in order to keep all the platforms lively and talked about.
· Devising and developing some feedback forms from the public and adjusting the social media strategy according to its results.
· Liasing with different departments, particularly with the PR and Marketing both in Russia and internationally and with the Audience Development department.
Required skills and experience:
· A native Russian speaker with excellent spoken and written English
· Experience in using social networking on behalf of a company/organisation and
familiarity with all social media platforms, particularly: Facebook, Vkontake, Instagram,
Twitter, Youtube, Vimeo, Flickr
· A good working knowledge of contemporary visual art is desirable
· A strong understanding of diverse cultural communities
· A strong and confident networker
· Genuine enthusiasm for promoting participation in cultural events
Period:
A minimum of 1 month, preferably 3 months. Starting date November 2013.
