ORGANIZATION OF THE EMBARKATION DAY

Your helper is following your instructions and you are responsible of the work the helper is making in the cabins. -
It is your duty to check the work achieve by your helper
The helper is helping you to make the bed (but it is faster for you to find another cabin steward to help you to make the double beds)
Mainly, the helper is cleaning the bathroom

It is not the responsibility of the helper to make the dusting in cabin or to make the set up
ROUTINE CLEANING
It is needless to say that the cabins must be at all times spotless. It is not always easy to keep the cabins tidy especially when the guests are very demanding and are asking for things that you have to provide or simply seek your company to talk to.
In any case it will be your main responsibility to keep the cabins clean.
The cabins will be checked on a daily basis by the Asst. Housekeeping Manager and once a week the Housekeeping Manager and the Director of Seruices. This is nothing to be afraid of. It is simply a control to ensure that all guests receive what they have paid for
The Assistant Housekeeper will also conduct an inspection based on a point system. This is a valuable tool for your progress.
In order to maintain an excellent standard of cleanliness it is advisable to adhere to a cleaning schedule that allows you to concentrate daily on a particular item, such as:
· portholes -ceilings
· walls
· carpet corners
· doors and frames
· lockers and trolleys
The last day of the cruise, especially in the evening you should always take particular attention of
· drawers
· inside of wardrobe and railers
· hangers
· lifejackets
· inside of bathroom cabinets
Each Cabin steward gets the " Routine Cleaning " form each morning from the Assistant Hk Mgr office.
Each Cabin steward is instructed by the Asst Hk Mgr of the items to be clean
At the end of their duty, (mid-day) each cabin steward give back his form filled to the Asst Hk Mgr.
The Asst Hk Mgr will make a spot check in the evening.
