We can easily provide you with an ordinary tourist invitation with registration in the “Isovella” hotel.The Field scientific school for early-stage researchers «Bryophytes of Subarctic» Dear colleagues, As announced earlier, the field scientific school for early-stage researchers of bryology «Bryophytes of Subarctic» will be held at the Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden-Institute (Kirovsk, Murmansk Prov.) on 27-30 June 2012. During this time, we are planning some introductory lectures, a Round Table discussion about bryophytes in the Red Data Books under the leadership of Dr. Tomas Hällingbäck, the chairman of IUCN / IAB Bryophyte Conservation group, and three excursions. On the 27 and 28th June we suggest single-day excursions to the Khibiny Mountains, 29-30th June – a two-days excursion to the coast of the Kandalaksha Bay ( the White Sea). In the early morning of 29th June we are planning departure to the Kandalaksha City. In the evening of 30th June, we will be back in Apatity. Meals during this excursion will be organized in the field kitchen or in a cafe. For transportation, trucks and buses will be used. Note: Almost all trains to Moscow and St.-Petersburg leave Apatity late in the evening and at night. If you do not want to stay in Apatity longer, you could leave it on 30th June evening. Please, plan the data of your departure because it is important for booking the hotel.
All participants will be accommodated in the “Isovella” hotel on 27 and 28th June. There are rooms for two or three persons only. The cost for one person varies from 550 to 750 rubles RUS (at present 1$= ca. 30 rubles RUS and 1euro= ca. 40 rubles RUS). Each newly-arrived participant can pay the accommodation at the registration desk of the hotel and get all the documents. Also the participants can order breakfast (150 rubles RUS) and dinner (150 rubles RUS) in the hotel café upon registration. The lunches on 27 and 28th June will be organized in the field. One night (29-30th June)we are planning to stay at some hotels of the city of Kandalaksha. The cost for one person is almost the same as in Apatity. Each participant can pay the accommodation at the hotel’s registration desk.
Registration fee is 2500 rubles RUS. It includes: field lunches on 27 and 28th June,meals during 29-30th June(lunch, dinner on 29th June; breakfast, lunch on 30th June),and transportation during the excursions. Information on the payment method will be provided in the letter that follows. The Third Circular with the School program, list of participants, description of travel, arrival and departures, weather conditions, etc. will be provided before 30 April 2012. DEAR COLLEGUES FROM OTHER COUNTRIES! PLEASE INFORM US CORRECTLY WHICH OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS FROM THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE WILL BE NEEDED TO GET A RUSSIAN VISA FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE FIELD CIENTIFIC SCHOOL. We can easily provide you with an ordinary tourist invitation with registration in the “Isovella” hotel. Travelling to Apatity is mostly by train (www.rzd.ru) from St. Petersburg (it takes 24 hours) and Moscow (it takes 33 hours), or by airplane (2.5 hours) (to Murmansk airport and then to Apatity by bus or car 3.5 hours, or to the “Khibiny” airport (Apatity-Kirovsk)).
