Suggest pros and cons of banning tobacco advertising.

According to the figures published by the World Health Organization the number of people who smoke is more than one billion worldwide, and the rate is steadily increasing. The statistics show that Russia is the number one in this list. There’s 75% of smokers among men and more than 20% among women. An average age of teenagers who smoke is from 12 to 15 years old.

Conventional wisdom runs that smoking is one of the hard addictions and can be compared only with alcohol and drug abuse. Unfortunately, tobacco isn’t related to strong substances because it doesn’t reduce state of awareness. It’s claimed that smoking is very harmful to human health. It can provoke serious illnesses such as cancer, cardio-vascular diseases, gastric problems and disorders of nervous system.

On the one hand, I suppose that tobacco advertising should be banned or at least reduced, because it enables consumers to choose between brands. Moreover, it conveys the idea that smoking is glamorous and enhances the quality of life.

My point is that the government should boost the law prohibiting smoking in all public places and advertising of tobacco products at all. There also should be more advocacy of leading a healthy lifestyle. It may reduce attractiveness of cigarettes and smoking will stop being a forbidden fruit for teenagers.

On the other hand, each smoker knows that this habit leads to alarming implications, still doesn’t realize it fully. And I don’t believe that banning tobacco advertising has much efficiency. That’s why this issue remains controversial.

8. What from your perspective is more important to feel fit: healthy eating habits or exercise?

My point is that both aspects are equally relevant.

The first way to feel fit is to learn more about how products we eat affect our organism. It’s relevant to know which food is good for health and which one is called a junk food. It will help you be quite choosy and picky in what you eat. At the same time you shouldn’t be afraid of eating a cake or a piece of roast chicken. I suppose that weight obsession appears when people have not enough information about their body. Lots of people believe that extra weight creep on when they eat something fat or sweet.

The second way to be in good shape is doing some sport. Conventional wisdom runs that most part of the population becomes bulky due to leading a sedentary life style. I share this view filly. Our body was made to be used, not ignored. To build exercise into your daily routine is useful for your health. It will help you to avoid putting on weight. It also has some other benefits. The endorphins released when you exercise will reduce stress, calm you down and help to prevent anxiety. The adrenalin can give you extra short-term energy and help fire you up when you are feeling depressed. It also increases your long-term stamina and ability to cope with everyday life. Your body shape will improve. Aerobic exercise can help reduced weight by burning extra calories. In addition, it improves your posture and the texture of your skin, lessens mood swings and depression, helps to prevent arthritis, joint problems and other illnesses. You will look and feel great.

To wrap it up I would like to say that both regular exercising and well-balanced meal can keep you fit and slim.

9. A fitness-freak – is it your future?

I believe that doing sport is of survival value for human organism. Our body was made to be used, not ignored. To build exercise into your daily routine is useful for your health.

One the one hand, sport can lead to obsession. There’re a lot of people who believe they are bulky. They get a craze on their shape and got stuck at the intensive exercising. It can have harmful and even damaging effects. It’s possible to become a fitness freak due to release of chemicals in the brain such as adrenalin and endorphin which provide you with feeling relaxed and full of energy. Still scientists claim that doing sports can be compared with drug addiction.

I don’t think it’s appropriate for me. I’m not overconcerned with my weight. I try to do exercising regularly still I’m often reluctant to go to the gym. So it’s already a proof that I can’t be a fitness freak. I like doing sport, still I haven’t obsession with it.

10. Do you agree that the process of ageing is inevitable and the only way to eliminate wrinkles is plastic surgery?

I tend to believe that the process of ageing is inevitable. The visible signs of ageing are deep wrinkles and lines, rough surface and sagging of the skin, the loss of suppleness and moisture. Scientists claimed that something like 90% of visible signs of ageing are due to ultraviolet light. Frequent exposing to ultraviolet light can provoke to skin diseases including cancer. That’s why it’s of survival value to protect your skin from direct solar radiation.

Conventional wisdom runs that the only way to eliminate wrinkles is refer to plastic surgery. I can’t fully agree with this statement. And I’m positive that there’s a range of ways to look younger in old age. Firstly, modern medicine has effective means to prolong our lifespan as well as to make us look more beautiful. The market of cosmetics is full of diversified means from ordinary creams and masks to special pills. It can smooth wrinkles, strengthen and soften the skin, improve elasticity and moisture of skin.

In addition, I would like to say that well-balanced meal helps to promote healthy looking skin. That’s why it’s of survival value to be choosy and picky in eating. Also it’s relevant to lead a proactive lifestyle which includes doing some sport. You can benefit from doing exercise regularly. Your body shape will improve. Aerobics improves the texture of your skin and increased circulation improves the condition of your hair. Your immune system is strengthened. You will look and feel younger.

11. Do you think 70 Biblical years are enough for a person to spend in this world?

For me it is a thought-provoking question. I have a hunch that it depends on the personality only. My point is there’re two types of people. The first type is people who tend to go with the flow for the whole life. They don’t do proactive things and rarely make serious decisions. They can live up to 90 and still feel bored waiting for relevant events to come. Such people never do something of great value. I can hardly ever regard such lifestyle as a real true life. I believe it’s just like a meaningless existence. At the same time there’s the second type of people who try to lead proactive lifestyle and always set the target. For such people 70 years are not really enough.

I suppose that everyone should have his/her ultimate goal and do everything to reach breakthrough regardless of difficulties on the way to. Still it’s relevant to remember about friends and relatives. According to Aristotle, man is a social animal. I tend to believe it means that we always need someone to empower us when we feel sad and depressed. We need someone who feels sympathetic to us and encourages us to emotional expression when it’s much needed. My footing is that people can’t survive in hostile business surroundings on their own. Everyone should have nearest and dearest.

To wrap it up, I would like to say that everybody creates his/her life by him/herself. And it depends on personal decisions only how the life would be.

12. Why are mental disorders associated with a stigma?

I believe that mental disorders are associated with stigma due to the common thought that people operate in this world due to brains. They use it to execute mundane daily activities and to solve problems. In case if a person gets mental disorder his/her short- and long-term memories deteriorate both with language skills. He/she becomes like a doddering wreck who doesn’t remember the number of his house, his relatives’ names and is not able to take care of himself any more. His mental as well as physical faculties are completely reduced. It a life-affirming experience to take care of such person. You have to do everything and even more in fact. Most of mentally challenged people are thought to be unbalanced. It might be challenging to deal with them. The thing is that the way of thinking of such people changes completely. Sometimes their brains work in chaos. And it doesn’t make sense what they say. Many people tend to believe that the developmentally challenged are not able to see the world in the traditional way. Their thoughts are split and irrational. So they are regarded as poor things who are not able to realize life around them. It’s a big tragedy in fact.
