Accept People and situations as they are
Objective: To establish the course point of accept people and situations as they are.
Requirements: No props required.
Total time for the exercise: 10 to 15 minutes
Trainer notes:
Tell participants to find a partner each
Of the pair, 1 person is A and 1 person is B
Say,
Partner A has to talk to partner B about something that is very dear to his/her heart (like a dear friend, a hobby etc).
Partner B should not listen to Partner A. He should be disinterested, not pay attention, look away etc.
Give 30-40 seconds.
Now say,
Partner A continue talking to partner B about something that is very dear to his/her heart (like a dear friend, a hobby etc).
Partner B has to oppose everything that Partner A says
Give 30-40 seconds
Now say,
Partner A has to talk to partner B about something that is very dear to his/her heart (like a dear friend, a hobby etc).
In this round Partner B has to agree to what Partner A says and continue the conversation using the words YES AND
Both partners have to thus build a conversation using YES AND
Give 30-40 seconds

Establish the point that in less than 5 minutes, partner was saying and responded accordingly. We actually had a conversation and both partners felt good at the end of the round as opposed to the earlier two rounds.
