We are first-year students of Belarus State Economic University.

Belarus State Economic University was founded in 1933. Today, it's a leading centre of education in economics in the country. It draws on long experience of training economists, specializing in different spheres of the Belarusian economy. It is well known for its educational programmes, and for its work in curriculum and material design, in testing and evaluation, and in acquisition of economics.

BSEU comprises 13 faculties. They are the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Accounting and Economics, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, the Faculty of International Economic Relations, the Faculty of Economics and Commerce Management, the Faculty of Marketing, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Language Studies. In addition, BSEU incorporates the Higher School of Tourism, the Higher School of Business and Management, Consulting Centre for Commerce, a specialized school of pre-university training and a specialized school of psychological and teaching updating. There are two branches of the University beyond Minsk - in Bobruisk and Pinsk.

The teaching staff of the University consists of professors, lecturers and tutors. They give lectures, take seminars and have tutorials with the students in various subjects: the Theory of Economics (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics), Marketing, Management, Accounting, Banking, Commercial Law, Higher Mathematics, Statistics, Business English Studies, and many others.

The staff of BSEU, past and present, have produced many well known books for teacher education and for use by economics learners.

As the proverb has it, "No pains, no gains". The students take great pains with their classes in English to gain as much knowledge as possible. They have at their disposal a great number of halls, classrooms, language media centres and labs equipped with all sorts of audio-visual aids, which help them to practise the pronunciation, get a better command of the language and get rid of mistakes in the shortest possible time. In the library there are thousands of books on different subjects and in different languages. As soon as a school-leaver is admitted to the University, he is allowed to borrow from the University library any book he needs. A lot of students take part in the work of scholarly societies and clubs.

For those who play sports there are different sports clubs. For those who are fond of poetry, art, music and dancing there is a great number of amateur groups where the students have every opportunity to develop their talents.

We are part-time students. We come to University twice a year because academic year is divided into two terms: winter term and summer term. We pass our terminal exams and preliminary exams or credits. We are studying at the Faculty of Economics and Management in Trade.

About 27.000 part-time and full-time students study at our University.

It occupies 7 buildings.

BSEU comprises 13 faculties. They are the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Accounting and Economics, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, the Faculty of International Economic Relations, the Faculty of Economics and Commerce Management, the Faculty of Marketing, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Language Studies.
