Chronic constipations is a problems with various ethyologies, occurrence of which increase with age. Conservative treatment is often long-term and ineffective. Ineffective conservative treatment actualizes surgical treatment of the disease.
Material and methods: In 2009-2001, retrospective analysis of 2 patients operated for “Laparascopic resection of the sigmoid colon” with the diagnosis of “Chr.Constpation. Dolichosigma” at the Central Customs Hospital.
Discussion: The both patients, aged between 24 and 35 years, are women. Intestinal motility of patients was regulated with the use of drugs every two weeks. The patients were applied long-term conservative treatment for “Chr. Constipation. Dolichosigma”, surgical treatment was considered because of the ineffectiveness of the treatment. The both patients were performed laparoscopic resection of the sigmoid colon. 4 ports were used for access: umbilical-optic -12 mm, linea med.clavicularis dextra (manipulation) 2 ports: 5 and 10 mm, subpubic (retraction)-5 mm. Laparascopically, colon was mobilized from the ileac flexure till the rectosigmoid passage, and anastomosis was formed extracorporally. In the both patients, drainage was kept in the abdominal cavity. Postoperative period was respectively easy and without complications, as compared to the traditional surgical operation, intestinal peristalsis started in patients on the 1st postoperative day, activity of a patient was higher. on the 5th postoperative day the both patients were discharged home in satisfactory condition under ambulatory control. First 3 months of the patients and 1-year observations show normalization of intestinal function and regulation of defecation without drugs.
Conclusion: Postoperative period in patients with laparoscopic resection of the sigmoid colon with early restoration of the working ability is more satisfactory than in patients that underwent traditional surgical operation.
