ITEM 5. COMPETITION SYSTEM

 

1. Competitions are held in two nominations: "Individual competition" and "Team championship"

2. The nomination "Individual competition" is carried out among men, women and juniors on growth categories and in category PRO in absolute category.

3. Growth categories:

¾ Men (since 18 years) - 175 cm, - 185 cm, + 185 cm;

¾ Women(since 18 years) , -168 cm, + 168 cm;

¾ Juniors (since 14 years): -170 cm, + 170 cm.

4. The contestant has a right to be declared only in one category corresponding to his growth or in a higher category.

5. The knife fencing instructors and heads of organizations participating in these competitions can participate in the category PRO.

6. The nomination "Team championship" is carried out among teams, including three participants (since 18 years), one by one in growth categories: - 175 cm, - 185 cm, + 185 cm. Matches between teams pass in sequence from the smallest growth category to the greatest. The team-winner is defined by number of victories in three matches.

7. The system of running competitions (with leaving a lost participant/team or on rotation system) in the nomination "Team championship" and every growth category in the nomination "Individual competition" is decided on basis of the ANNEX 1.

8. Before each match contestants must have a rest not less than 5 minutes.

ITEM 6. MATCH PROCEDURES

 

1. The match is held in one round with no time limit. The round is considered won when one of the contestants of the match gains 5 points.

2. The match can end ahead of schedule (item 16).

3. The match begins with the referee’s command “Fight” and is finished with the “Stop” command.

4. Scorekeeping of the match is by charge "credit" (item 7) and "penalty" points (item 8).

5. The round begins with the score 0-0 (zero-zero).

6. Credit points are charged by 1 point, for the first productive attack by a sport knife defined by the electronic system Sport knife.

7. The secretary of the referees set the score 1-1 (one-one) on the electronic “Sport knife” system.

8. The first productive attack is any permitted blow with a sport knife determined automatically by the Sport knife system. Any following blows by sport knives struck after carrying out the first productive attack aren't set off. The score on the electronic system must be (1-0).

9. After the first productive attack the round is paused, contestants go to their places, the secretary of the referees makes out the score line on the score-board upon command of the main site referee, and sets 1-1 score on the electronic “Sport knife” system.

10. Other points, including "penalty points", are charged by the referee with immediate fixing by the secretary of the referees on the score-board.

11. The first productive attack which is carried out with violation or after violation of rules is not set off. In this situation the referee stops the match, takes out sanction for violation.



 

ITEM 7. CREDIT POINTS

 

1. Each credit point is awarded for:

¾ the first productive attack with the sport knife.

¾ knockdown.
