ITEM 4. RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CONTESTANTS AND SECONDS

Knife fencing competition rules

 

ITEM 1. MATCH SITE

1. The match site is to be smooth, flat, without hindrances.

2. The match site is the square of lateral length 8 m (measurement on outer side). The safety area of width 1 m is along the perimeter of the site.

3. 2 parallel lines of length 1 metre equidistant from the edge of the site are drawn for designation of athletes’ positions distantly 1.5 meters from the center of the site.

4. Two chairs off the site are opposite to the line of designation of athletes’ positions for designation of the seconds' location during matches.

5. The site is to be equipped with electronic equipment of fixing of kicks "Sport knife" (www.sportsknife.ru) for carrying out matches, chairs for the contestants’ seconds, and the table of the secretary of the site.

6. Along the line of sight of competitions there are should be a table of the doctor, a table of the person in charge and the secretary of the referees.

ITEM 2. REFEREEES

 

1. According to the chief match referee decision, the referee structure operating the match consists of the main referee, site referee, secretary of referees (whose duties include work with the panel of electronic system Sport knife)

2. The referee structure operating the match can be expanded to the main referee, site referee, secretary of referees, timekeeper[1] and two side referees (judges).

 

ITEM 3. UNIFORM DRESS

 

1. Contestants of matches and referees have to be dressed in uniform dress described below.

2. Uniform dress of referee's committee:

¾ white short-sleeved T-shirt;

¾ black butterfly;

¾ black trousers;

¾ black boots.

3. Uniform dress of contestants:

¾ trousers must be rather long to close at least two thirds of shin, but shouldn't be lower than ankle;

¾ clothes on upper body, with maximum length of sleeves not lower than wrist, but not shorter than middle of shoulder. Usage of sleeveless clothes is not allowed;

¾ sport shoes (without hard collars).

4. Obligatory protective equipment:

¾ fencing mask;

¾ protective gloves for hands. Usage of gloves with open fingers isn't allowed;

¾ for women, protective breastplate is obligatory.

5. Usage of an inguinal corset, elastic surgical arch supporters is allowed.

6. Protective inventory not specified above is prohibited.

7. The chief referee can deprive any contestant non-qualifying to these rules of the right to participate in matches.

 

ITEM 4. RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CONTESTANTS AND SECONDS

 

1. The contestant must:

 

¾ follow the given rules;

¾ be polite and correct;

¾ follow the referee’s demands;

¾ appear at the match once summoned by the referees;

¾ not stop the match by himself;

¾ not go away from the ground by himself

 

2. The contestant has a right to:



 

¾ use protective inventory according to the rules of the contest;

¾ contact the referees via the team representative or personally, if there is no representative;

¾ have his second;

¾ give a cue (raise his arm) if there is a trauma or if he refuses to continue the match;

¾ if there is a trauma not connected with permitted technical actions, use one minute to provide medical help;

¾ refuse carrying out the match or further participation in matches.

 

3. The second must:

 

¾ follow the given rules;

¾ be polite and correct;

¾ fulfill requirements of the referee;

¾ not come to the site during a match.

 

4. The second has a right to:

 

¾ momentary protest during a match.
