| Strategic and Operational Plan Guidelines
You need to submit a 3-10 pages Strategic and Operational Plan for the company/brand/product/service that you want to bring to Kazakhstan. Please write using your own limited English skills. Don’t write anything more than 10 pages, I will not read the copy & paste plagiarism.
Submission deadline is 16th May, Wednesday at 13:00 at my office in SDU or by 22:00 by e-mail. Being late will be punished by 30% discount for the grade.
- Strategic Plan should include:
- Company Name, Brand and Product/Service
(a short description of a brand/product – not more than 1 page)
- Vision Statement (creates passion)
Mission Statement (creates purpose)
Strategic Goals and Objectives (set direction)
- International Business Strategy and Type of International Business (Choose a strategy and explain with your own words why you chose it, what are the advantages and disadvantages) - Use Lecture Notes 2 for more information
- Competitiveness Strategy (Choose a competitive priority(ies) for your company and explain how this will affect the profitability of you business project)- Use Lecture Notes 3 for more information
- Social Responsibility Strategy (How will your business project show that it is an ethical business) - You can get ideas from Corporation Documentary and use Lecture Notes on Ethical Business.
- Measurement of Achievement (Explain how will you know that you achieved your strategic goals and objectives, what will be your measurement) – Use your microeconomics knowledge on profitability, pricing and competition
- Operational Plan should include:
(use Lecture Notes 4; if you struggle with the Operational Plan come to class on Saturday 11:00AM and I can show how to do it again)
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) – to start your business (you need to mention all the tasks and sub-tasks that you need to accomplish to open a business, for example ‘register your business with tax authorities’, ‘rent an office’, ‘employ an accountant’, ‘purchase equipment’, ‘purchase a truck’)
Example (with ‘time in minutes’):
- Dependencies of Tasks and Time Duration (in hours) for the lowest level of WBS sub-tasks
- PERT Network Diagram Plan (with time in hours for Earliest Start and Earliest Finish, Latest Start and Latest Finish, Slack time for each task of Network diagram, and Critical Path) – 1 day=8 working hours, 1 week=40 working hours
