Having an agenda will help you pace the flow of your presentation. Visual Aids You will want to stay on course to finish in the time allotted. Advance Preparation Effective presenters employ the following techniques to manage their delivery. Start Strong ? Establish norms. III. The introduction and conclusion are very important - perhaps the most important - parts of your presentation. The introduction is the first impression that your audience have of you. You should concentrate on getting your introduction right. You should use the introduction to: welcome your audience; introduce your subject; outline the structure of your presentation; give instructions about questions. Use the conclusion to: Sum up (Give recommendations if appropriate); Thank your audience; Invite questions.

Consider a report you recently wrote at class or at work. How might you present this as an oral presentation? Choose a particular audience for your presentation and prepare notes for an extemporaneous oral presentation. Be sure to explain how you will engage your listeners from the start and how you plan to close the presentation.
