Description of the Elective Program
Venue: Saint-Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI), Department of Economics and Management in collaboration with ZIBAT
Category of students: bachelor level
Number of students: max.40 (20 students from ZIBAT, 15-20 students from LETI)
Duration of program: 2 weeks of exchange – 5 ECTS
Dates: 17th April to 29th of April 2016

Accommodation: Housing in Russian families and at hostel in St-Petersburg, Russia.
Approximate expenses: Flight tickets Copenhagen/Skt. Petersburg – max. DKK 4000, meals – it is possible to make an agreement with the University to buy lunch and dinner at the campus restaurant at the approximate price of 80 DKK pr. Day. Other expenses to expect: local transportation (the cost of 1 trip in metro is about 5 DKK). There are many possibilities to get students discounts for the transportation, purchase of meals at students café and visiting museums etc.
Work methods: work methods includes study trip, lecturing, cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural group work, participation and presentations at the International Scientific Conference, company visits, practical work with business cases.
Exam: Individual Oral 30 minutes exam, based on written individual or group assignment
Learning objectives and academic content:
· Acquire knowledgeabout Russian management style and be able to compare it to the Western European context
· Understanding of the main aspects of marketing in Russian business and their influence on growth potential
· Acquaintance with the way of doing business in Russia: visiting Russian companies, as well as departments of American’s and Europe’s companies in St-Petersburg
· Innovations in Russia: opportunities, challenges and perspectives.
Competencies and Skills:
· The ability to adapt to the intercultural context of studying and working in a new cultural environment
· The ability to develop intercultural communication skills
· The ability to professionally cooperate in teams within cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural settings
· The ability to get insight into business environment of a growing market (with Russia as case)
· The ability to discover innovative business opportunities in a new market (with Russia as case)
Please, note that all students participating in the program have to participate in the 1-day National Scientific Conference “Challenges of the Modern Management”, organizing by LETI during our stay in Skt. Petersburg. The participating students are expected to prepare and present relevant topic or case at the conference. The presentation should be between 5 to 15 minutes and made in groups.
