Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin

Oksana Aleksandrovna Domnina was born in August 17, 1984.

Maxim Andreevich Shabalin was born in in January 25, 1982.

The history of the world figure skating knows hundreds of wonderful ice dancing pairs, but only a few of them demonstrated so much romanticist, cutting their each movement , wave of hand and sight…

Oksana and Maxim have got a lot of very interesting dancing shows and a reach career history. They began to dance together in April 2002 and at once begin to win.

They became world champions among juniors in 2003, the champions of Russia 2005, 2007, 2010, the winners of Grand-Prix-Final 2007-

 

2008, champions of Europe 2008 and 2010, World champions 2009 and bronze medalists of the Olympics 2010.

In 2008 the whole world was marveled by their free dance “Masquerade” (music by Aram Khachaturian). The dance became classical legend of the world figure skating.

Oksana and Maxim awarded with a medal of the Order “For Merits to the Fatherland”, second class(March 5, 2010) for a large contribution into the development of physical culture and sports, for great achievements at the XXI Olympic Games in Vancouver.

 

 

Evgeni Plushenko

Evgeni Viktorovitch Plushenko was born in the town Solnechnyj, Khabarovsk region, in 1982, October 3.

Evgeni became the first in the history of figure skating, who showed a combination of quadruple (toeloop-triple toeloop-triple loop(2002), he was first among men, who made bilmann spinning(2001), cascade triple axel- euler-triple flip.

He took part in a record of seasons—12(1995-2012, with intervals)

In 2008 Evgeni won Eurovision.

Plushenko was the five-time Champion of Europe, a tree-time World Champion and an Olympic Champion(2006). Also we won two silver Olympic medals.

 

 

Evgeni Plushenko was awarded with a medal of the Order “For Merits to the Fatherland” , first clas(March 5, 2010) for a large contribution into the development of physical culture and sports, for great achievements at the Olympics 2010 in Vancouver, a medal “For strengthening of military cooperation”. Many times he was the best sportsman of the year.

 

You can see, that Russian skaters have great traditions.

Really, our country has won most of all Olympic medals in this kind of sport.

Figure skates usually competed for 4 sets of medals. But in Sochi we will make bids for 5 sets, because a new part of competition will be added to the main. It will be team competitions. 10 teams will take part in it. Best skaters from their countries will perform short program in 4 disciplines. In free program 5 teams will perform another sportsmen. The results will be summarized and the team-winner will be will be determined. Our national team has very big chances of the first place, because we have high results in every discipline of figure skating.

 

 

 

Conclusion

There is less than 2 years till Olympic Games in Sochi. What can we expect from this grandiose sports festival, which is so unfamiliar for Russia? Of course only gold victories, new loud names, bright battle and triumph of Russian sports! Let's wish good luck to our sportsmen:
