Microbiological research of the Epidemic relapsing fever
Microbiological research of the leptospirosis
ALGORITHM OF ACTIONS
DURING CONDUCTION OF MICROBIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF SYPHILIS
T. pallidum immobilization tests (TPT) – Dilution of the serum are mixed with complement and with live, actively motile T.pallidum from the testicular chancre of the rabbit, and the mixture is observed microscopically. If specific antibodies are present, spirochetes are immobilized; in normal serum active motion continues.
LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS OF RICKETTSIA DISEASES
Actuality. Rickettsia diseases are caused by small bacteria that are obligate intracellular parasites and – except for Q fever – are transmitted in humans by arthropods.
Primary objectives: to be able to conduct and evaluate the microbiological diagnostics of Rickettsia diseases.
QUESTIONS FOR DISCASSION
1. General description of bacteria of the family Rickettsia.
2. Microbiological diagnosis of Rickettsia diseases.
PROCEDURE OF PRACTICAL SESSION
Task 1. To do and estimate hemagglutination test.
Task 2. Study the smears from patient’s materials and draw it’s in protocol.
Task 3. Discrybe the immunobiological preparates for diagnostic, treatment and prophylaxis of spirochetosis.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PRACTICAL WORK
Task 1. The main method of Rickettsia diseases diagnosis is serological. This test is making with patient's pair sera. There is increasing in four times of titer of antibody in second serum (that serum is taking from patients after 14 days from beginning of diseased). It has diagnostic importance. When you will make the passive hemagglutination test (PHAT) gut 5 drops of the different solvent of the serum in the hole of the plane-table, then add 1 drop of diagnosticum in each hole.
