This trip was really great! I met new friends and saw interesting places. I was surprised by the kindness and friendliness of the people I communicated with. School #11 of Novohrad-Volynskyi is very big and modern. Inside it is very clean and beautiful. After the schoolmaster showed us some classrooms, we had a talk with some pupils of the school. The disco-party they organized for us a little bit later was very exiting and full of surprises. The town is not big, but lovely. It was interesting to visit Lesia Ukrainka’s museum, where we saw some personal things of Lesia. This is the place where she was born and lived for some years. We also had an excursion around the town, we saw some places of inteest. The school we visited was a birthday school, so it was very exiting to watch the concert they prepared. The pupils of the school are very talented and industrious. In general the school impressed me but still I wouldn’t like to study there because there are too many strict rules. This journey was super. It helped us to see a new town and to make new friends. I’m looking forward to their coming to Stryi.

I’m fond of travelling. Travelling! How much I like it!. Now I am sitting in the bus, looking out of the window. I can’t believe that 6 hours ago I was in Novohrad-Volynskyi. We live in the same country, but we don’t know about people’s lives in other towns. On Thursday thirteen pupils and three teachers went to Novohrad-Volynskyi to celebrate the birthday of school No. 11. It is a specialized school. Sitting on the bus wasn’t very exciting. It was only 6 a.m. and almost everyone was sleepy. As for me I didn’t want to sleep because I was looking forward to the moment, when I see a new town, a new school and new faces. At first I got acquainted with pupils of this school, however virtually. But imaginary world is something different reality. Novohrad-Volynskyi disappointed me a little. This town is smaller than Stryi. I don’t want to insult people there but I think that Stryi looks more European. But the school building is wonderful! so beautiful, it is very clean everywhere, and green grass decorates its yard. A very strict discipline impressed me most of all. How beautiful are the classrooms! They have a separate classroom where they cook, and sew. It is interesting to know that many girls from their school sew clothes by themselves. They look very nice! Girls don’t wear make up at school. The next place was the room of beauty. There we saw the best works made by the pupils of this school. Our guide was the principal of this school, a very smart and kind woman. After light dinner we had a chat with our pen pals. At first we were nervous, not sure, our answers were too short, but then we found the common language. They are very interesting people. Talking with them we saw that these children are very much the same as we are. I was astonished to here the answer to my question: What is your mother tongue? I heard the following answer: At home we speak Ukrainian, but speaking with friends we use Russian . We live in Ukraine, so Ukrainian should be our mother tongue. We became closer when began to speak to each other, we shared our opinions. They organized a nice party for us, we played games, had a lot of fun. To my mind all these events made us friends. So we shall continue our acquaintance.
