PARTICIPLES AND ADJECTIVES

 

The participles of some verbs are often used as adjectives. Verbs have two participles: a present participle and a past participle.

e.g.verb present participle past participle

bore boring bored

The present participle has an active meaning and applies to things mostly.

e.g. an embarrassing situation

The past participle has a passive meaning and applies to people.

e.g. anembarrassed man

a/ Choose the correct form.
