These tools will be discussed, as well as the importance of goal-setting for reaching our desired levels of proficiency. Workshops Andy Noonan Talking to Yourself: Autonomy tools for EAP Students will experience a number of exercises using modern and widely-available technology to improve their listening skills and increase their vocabulary, specific to their academic and professional goals. Natalia S. Karpova What do you Need to Know to Prepare for the IELTS Test? The workshop is aimed at graduate and postgraduate students who consider studying or working abroad. The paper will give general ideas how to revise for IELTS effectively. Speaking and academic writing parts of the test are viewed as quite difficult for preparation, so the paper will analyze common mistakes made by IELTS candidates and provide you with useful tips how to avoid such problems.
Marina A. Zaitseva, Natalia V. Pavlova Presentations: Beyond Power Point Don't want you audience to face "Death by PowerPoint"? Tired of its bullets but don't know how to avoid them? You know how to craete a PowerPoint presentation but no one listens to you while you are speaking? In this talk you will hear how to avoid a presentation disaster and capture the attention of your audience!
Natural Science Kirill Antonov The Litological-Petrofizical Performance of Formations of Bobrikovsky Horizon of the Krotovsky Floor Space Lithological-petrophysical explorations were held within the formations of bobrikovsky horizon Krotovky floor. It is shown that the cut-away has specific cyclical structure. Three cyclists with charateristic trangressive structure were located. Formations-collectors were located to the basements of cyclists and are featured by good filtational and capational properties. It is set that generation of bobrykovky horizon formations took place in coastal conditions.
Maxim Ashanin Inductance of the Coil Changed by Electric Field Researching properties of the semi-conductor device - the pin-diode. In the research the influence of the pin-diode on the inductance coil is being studied, particularly the influence of vertical currents on inductance change. Anna Burmistrova Drip Irrigation of Apple Tree Nurseries in the Nonchernozem Zone The report deals with the problem of how different levels of soil moisture affect the growth and development of young apple trees cultivated under drip irrigation in the nursery gardens located in the Nonchernozem zone. This effect is estimated by measuring particular plant biological features.
Zinaida Chepurina Salting-in Phenomenon for the Quaternary System Water – Pyridine – Butyric Àcid – Potassium Iodide Phase equilibria and critical phenomenon in cut of the quaternary system water - pyridine - butyric acid - potassium iodide whose constituent ternary liquid system had a closed binodal curve were studied by means of the visual-polythermal method within 5-60oC. Phase state isotherms constructed on the cut triangle for four temperatures get allowed to determine the topological transformation of the phase diagram for the examined cut of the composition tetrahedron with temperature changes to be revealed. It is revealed that at small concentration potassium iodide possesses salting-in action in water-organic solutions. For four-component systems it was established for the first time.
Maxim Chervyakov The Measurement of the Outgoing Shortwave Radiation from Satellite «Meteor-M» ¹1 A brief summary about radiometer “Shortwave outgoing radiation monitor” (IKOR) is given. This equipment is intended to measure outgoing shortwave radiation that gives possibilities to receive instant and daily averaged albedo values, absorbed solar radiation, and also monthly averaged values. These make it possible research how the components of Earth radiation balance influence the climate. Vadim Grubov On–off Intermittency of Thalamo-Cortical Oscillations in the Electroencephalogram of Rats with Genetic Predisposition to Absence Epilepsy Although sleep spindles and spike-wave discharges (SWD) are considered as thalamocortical oscillations, functional relationship between them is not obvious. The present study describes temporal dynamics of SWD and sleep spindles in EEG by using wavelet-based algorithm.
Tanya Denisova Porous structure of separation material investigation with the means of porometric methods The report will present the investigation of basic characteristics of the pores in separator. We have studied it with the help of scanning electron microscopy and BET, CSP and BjH methods. Two types of separators have been investigated which are Bernard Dumas (France) AND Hollingswoth Vose (USA).
