ethnic and traditional and industrial ways of housekeeping

on the territory of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR)”

Russia, Arkhangelsk, April 29-30, 2014.

 

Forthcoming international conference “Economic, ecological and sociocultural measures of ethnic and traditional and industrial ways of housekeeping on the territory of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR)” (hereinafter referred to as the Conference) will be dedicated to the results of the declared Year of the Environment in Russia (2013) on example of specific region.

The purpose of the conference is drawing the attention of the government authorities and public to the problem of achievement of economic and ecological optimum in the region, to the discussion of the most acute problems that have arisen because of the forced industrial development of the North of Europe.

 

Conference languages are Russian, English.

 

Work directions:

- Historic measurement of the problem of ecological balance conservation of the North of Europe (ideas of Thomas Robert Malthus, Aurelio Peccei, Dennis L. and Donella Meadows, Frank W. Notestein);

- Economic efficiency of use of resources of the region;

- Alternative and waste-free power sources of the region: international activities on grants, programs and agreements of member states of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region;

- Preservation of monuments of history and culture on the territory of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region;

- Restoration and preservation of traditional folk arts and crafts. Recreation and ecotourism opportunities.

- New ideas of youth about preservation of the biosphere of the region on the basis of the traditional ethnoecological knowledge (TEK);

- Greening of public consciousness in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region territory: educational, training and public awareness projects;

- Ecological situation in the region and its impact on public health;

- The «autonomization» project of areas of traditional managing of the region without removal of resources by industrial way.

Conditions of Participation:

Registration fee includes the cost of preparation and publication of the conference materials (the author’s article publication in the conference digest, the conference program, preparation and delivery of information and invitation letters), hotel reservation, coffee break, cultural program. Postal charges for sending conference digest are not included into the registration fee.
