Abstract of the project:
Research project objectives/hypothesis
The main research goals are:(1) to identify the similarities and differences in the area of intrafamilial socialisation(child rearing techniques, parenting styles) in countries with different socio-cultural characteristics as well as to compare readiness for aggression in young adults from these countries. It is hypothesized that the differences in socialisation effects relate to the intensity of punitive-autocratics caring-authoritative methods employed by parents, and the general pattern of readiness for aggression will be similar in all samples;
(2) to show the link between childhood intrafamilial socialisation and the specific character of readiness for interpersonal aggression in later life. It is hypothesized that emotional rejection and insufficient positive relationships generate a higher level of emotional-impulsive readiness, whereas punitive and restrictive methods result in a higher level of habitual-cognitive and personality-immanent readiness for aggression.
