The landmarks of Great Britain

 

Great Britain is full of national landmarks. London alone has a lot of landmarks and amazing sites for tourists. Here are the most famous landmarks.

 

1. Big Ben.

 

 

 

 

Big Ben is the world’s largest four-faced clock. Big Ben is the nickname given to the great

bell of the clock of the Palace of Westminster. Big Ben is the heaviest of the five bells.

 

2. Tower of London.

 

 

The Tower of London is one of the world's most famous buildings. During its 900-year history it was a royal palace, prison and place of execution, arsenal, jewel house and zoo! Now it is a museum, where the Crown Jewels are kept.

 

National Gallery.

 

 

The National Gallery displays over 2,000 Western European paintings from the middle ages to the 20th century. The pictures in the collection belong to the public and admission is free. There are special exhibitions, lectures, video and audio-visual programmes, for children and adults.

 

4. Natural History Museum

 

 

The museum has hundreds of exciting, interactive exhibits. Visitors can see the popular Dinosaurs gallery, Mammals with its unforgettable model blue whale.
