Scotland the Beautiful

Many popular festivals are held there. The Edinburgh military tattoo and Edinburgh festival take place every summer. They attract a lot of tourists.The best performances from all over the world can be seen there.

The Royal Mile is a street which runs from the Castle to Holyrood Palace, a big royal residence.

The most picturesque part of the Royal Mile is the Cannongate.

Here you can see the monument to a dog called Bobby. This statue has become a symbol of devotion.

The Old Town is a striking contrast to the New Town. Princes Street is the most beautiful place, lined with trees. In the garden of the street we can see a great monument to Sir Walter Scott, a famous writer. It is called a poem of stone.

Scotland is a great country with picturesque nature, proud people and busy towns.
