How To Keep Fit

We often look upon dumbbells and other paraphernalia in gymnasiums for a work out. But the main part of exercise is the usage of mind as we exercise. You will get the best development of muscles and health through an intense desire, enthusiasm and persistence. An intense desire and a little exercise will do wonders and give health and pleasure in living. It is after all a matter of mind. It is mental first and physical afterwards. The secret is to know one's weakness and to concentrate the mind and energies upon that weakness with a view to correcting it.

Health and disease are not matters of chance but are regulated by the universal laws of sowing and reaping. One of the important things to understand is that sickness is a direct or indirect consequence of a violation of the natural laws. We become diseased by wrong living as well as wrong thinking. We are healed by the power of mind over the physical laws just in proportion to our conformation to the divine operation of these mental and physical laws. We should be in harmony with both the mental and physical realms. Health, when lost, can be regained by faithful cultivation of mind and close adherence to all mental and physical laws.

Exercise properly and you stimulate good breathing, create thirst and arouse appetite. Of course, the appetite should be satiated with a nutritious diet. The right kind of exercise, if carried out for six months or even less time will make you a changed person. Besides exercising the muscles of arms,legs,abdomen,face,eyes and neck one should walk at least 2 miles a day to allow free play to the muscles and the vital organs. Proper exercise of the back muscles will help to maintain spinal balance. To keep the spinal nerves unhindered in their function is one of the best ways to keep physically fit.

Other than the mind, the sun has got a natural healing power. Exposing the body to sunlight causes blood pressure to fall. The breathing becomes deeper and slower. This will help you to inhale a great amount of air. The heart will strain less. Sunshine expands the capillary veins on the skin, bringing blood to the surface. This will increase the red and white blood corpuscles.

Let your body be exposed to the light, air and sun. This will help your body to maintain a healthy equilibrium.
