The Policy of Russian authorities in Kazakhstan of 30-50th years of XVIII c.

XVIII century – continuation of accumulation by the Russian researchers of news about Kazakhs, this period.

A.I.Levshin (1797-1897) – the first basic research on geography, history and ethnography. Work – "The description the Kyrgyz - the Cossack, Kyrgyz-kaysatsky Hordes and steppes" - 1832. Environment of life (14) is shined; historical data on Kazakhs since ancient times until the end of the XVIII century (24); conduct of life, customs, religious beliefs, (34). Work - about the beginning the Cossack Kyrgyz and a condition them to the entry into the state of Russia or till 1730.

C.Valikhanov (1835-1865) – the first Kazakh scientist, the orientalist, the historian, the ethnographer, the geographer. Investigated questions of history of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, East Turkestan. C.Valikhanov's works "Kyrgyz rodoslovy", "Records about Kyrgyz", "About nomadic Kyrgyz". He expressed opinion on ethnic proximity of Kazakhs and Nogais. In the researches C.Valikhanov widely used the Kazakh epos, legends, stories with legends.

V. V. Bartold (1869-1930) – In since 1898 it published "A sketch of history of Semirechya" in which all is built known to the author of history a material on Zhetysa since ancient times before falling of the state of Kalmyks.

In 1898 – "Turkestan during an era of the Mongolian invasion", "Genghis Khan and Mongols". It collected a huge number of materials from sources of concerning cities of Youzhny Kazakhstana. It bypassed also a problem of the social relations.

Expeditions investigating Kazakhstan - Pallas, Semenov-Tian-Shansky.

Till XVIII century there was no special studying of Kazakhstan, special scientific expeditions here were not organized. Some information on Kazakhstan, on the people occupying these lands can be found in descriptions the dealer, merchants, doctors who here visited. But each of them wrote that it interested, for example: dealers wrote about goods, about cattle, etc., doctors – about drugs, about folk remedies, about shamans.

Since beginning XVIII-the XIX Kazakh steppe is visited by people competent, educated, ethnographers, historians, geographers, etc. In Kazakhstan special scientific expeditions for more complex studying of the Kazakh steppe start being organized. In 1769 one of the first expeditions was headed by P.S.Pallas. The route passed it through Simbirsk, Orenburg, Iletsk, Orsk, Yaitsky small town, Gurjev, Ufa. Pallas's work "Travel on various provinces of the Russian Empire" in 3 parts became result of expedition. Besides, Pallas one of the first was investigated by East Kazakhstan, ancient parking on territories of Kazakhstan, rock drawings.
