Day 1. Travel

Travelling to Ukraine

12.10 at 23:39 - Departure from Kyiv –

13.10 at 06:18 - arrive to Kamianets-Podilskii on the, then with the buses we transfer them to hotel and they can have shower, breakfast.

Day 2. Participation

Getting to know each other.

  1. For example “Snowball” game which works good to remember the names of the participants, some adjectives they associated themselves with, and movements. First person sad his /her name and then every next one started with the name of first person, adding adjective starting with the same letter and with movement. After the first person, everyone was supposed to repeat all the names coming before him/herself. It was difficult because the group was big, but after this game everyone new other names, more or less.
  2. Paper-man: participants make a man from the paper be the help of the hands, write down on the man: what is on his/her mind, what does he/she likes/loves, favourite music, favourite food, where he/she wants to go (travel). Everybody hang it on the wall and anybody can read it to know each other better.
  3. “Balloons game”: everybody has balloon with her/his name: balloons are in the air; then everybody needs to catch one balloon; teamer asks different questions.
  4. “Blanket game”: group divided in two and separated by the blanket; one delegate from each group is coming to the blanket (that the other group cannot see him/her), the blanket falling down and participants need to tell the name of the person opposite; who tells the first – win.

Workshop "Develop yourself to develop your business"

Building the tower process

Aim: invite them to be players in the exchange; they create this exchange or themselves

Materials: 8 sets of legos, 8 blind folds, flipchart, notebooks, pens, music, speakers and a laptop

Description: participants in the group of 4 build a tower from the legos. Trying different roles: player, coach, observer, and commentator. Evaluation of the process.

Team building activities

Flying chairs

Aim: teambuilding game, learn how they work in the big group, learn more about participants

Materials: chairs flipchart, notebooks, pens

Description: process with the finger and chair. Chairs in the circle, participants need to walk around the chairs staying on 2 legs, holding them with one finger, not allowed to talk, break the rules. Sharing

Evaluation of the participants’ feelings with smiley-faces (three options of smiley-faces, paper and pen to all participants)

 

Day. 3. Business

Business start up.

Aim: Share experiences on entrepreneurship

Materials: no.

Description: Finnish group members share their mini business experiences from summer to Ukrainian participants.

Creating business plans in groups

Aim: learn group work skills, to be creative

Materials: flipchart, pens

Description: Participants are divided into groups of 3-4 persons. They have to come up with a business plan together.

 

Dinner

 

Presentations of the business plans

Aim: Share group work results

Materials: no

Description: Groups share their business plans to other participants

Day. 4. Public Relations

Communication, Advertising Workshop

Aim: build awareness about different between people see things

Materials: flipchart, fp-paper, markers

  1. Feedback

Aim: develop skills of giving and receiving feedback

Materials: flipchart, fp-paper, markers

  1. Prove that your figure is one of the most important figures in the world

Aim: Develop ability to convince people, find out how confident you are in your presentation skills.

Materials: flip-chart, marker to draw the 5 figures.

Description: I draw the 5 figures on the flip-chart; the group divide their selves in group of 5 people. Each choose 1 figure and starts convince that his/her figure is one of the most important in the world.

 

Advertising, PR & marketing

Aim: to discuss the difference between advertising, PR and marketing

Why PR is important on the different stages of developing the business.

Aim: Develop creativity, stay confident in presentation skills. Fun

Materials: no

Description: Advertise yourself in front of the group for 3 minutes

Day 5. Culture

Cultural Improvisation

Aim: Describe cultural differences (habits and beliefs)

Materials: no

Description: Both Finnish and Ukrainian groups have 15 minutes time to write down 5-10 usual habits (like in Finland going to Sauna and using “vasta”, eating mämmi during Easter etc) that are common in their country. After they have written the list, they have to act the habit in front of the other group and the other participants try to guess what this habit is. After guessing the groups tell more about this habit to the other participants.

Finish/ Ukrainian Language lesson in creative fun way

Aim: to learn each other’s languages

Materials: flipchart, papers, pens

Description: 15-20 common words are written on small pieces of paper in Finnish and in Ukrainian (same words!). The group is divided into 4 groups and they have to find words that match together. No speaking allowed, only acting is allowed.

 

Dinner

 

Intercultural evening with the videos, music, dances, games

Aim: to learn more about each other’s cultures

Materials: photos from home country, ipod, internet connection, youtube, local food, sweets etc

Description: During the evening both groups have a chance to show special parts of their home countries. This is done with the help of videos, music, dances and games. On the side participants can enjoy Finnish and Ukrainian local specialities (candies, cookies etc)

In the evening the group will transfer to a night train that takes them to Kiev.

Day. 6 Take a lead

17.10 at 06:06 - Arrival to Kiev. Accommodation

 

Breakfast

Quest in Kiev

Aim: to visit examples of creative Enterprises in Kyiv, get to know Kyiv and local people in creative and funny way.

Materials: phones/cameras, maps, of the city

Description: participants be divided in 5 groups. During these activity, participants will accomplish different assignments and visit creative enterprises in Kyiv. During quest youngsters should involve local people and learn some facts about Ukraine, sharing knowledge about Finland.

Visit of the Coca-cola factory

 

Dinner

 

Presentation of results and Evaluation of the Quiz

Participants will make short presentation what they experienced in different ways: theatre, dance, videos, story telling, etc.

 

Day 7. Profitability

Meeting with the local businessman

Aim: to meet local business man.

Materials: phones/cameras with video recording possibility

Description: participants will visit 3 different enterprises in Kyiv and meet with their representatives or owners to learn more about their experience and opportunities to start business.

Making of the 1 min videos in small groups

Aim: to describe the points that makes a business profitable

Materials: phones/cameras with video recording possibility

Description: Groups of 3 participants plan and video a 1 minute document of a profitable business.

Day 8. Celebrations of the results

Leadership styles

a. Leading styles: democratic, authoritarian, easy-going – and used the method of Parliament to show the strong and weak sides of the styles, by introducing different conflict situation in the camp which could be solved in different ways by the help of different leading style.

Evaluation of the exchange

a. Evaluation method with the cocktails. Participants could make their own cocktails: sweet, neutral, disguising, bitter, sour, special, fruitful, cosy. Everyone created his/her drink and explained why they put the ingredients. At the end, summery was participants like the seminar, the atmosphere inside the group, they learned a lot of fruitful knowledge.

b. Cin-chin-chao game. To acknowledge each other: each participant had time to say or show his acknowledgement to everybody. It is made in the funny short and active way.
