The scientific study of Kazakhstan. A.I. Levshin - researcher of the Kazakh people.

The results were significant travel. Three-volume study of AI Levshina (1832) is one of the most valuable works on the Kazakhs of the first half of the nineteenth century .. Levshina value of the work lies in the fact that it is made on the basis of primary sources, including used and archival materials. In addition to historical information, the work includes detailed descriptions of all the material side of life, social and spiritual culture, customary law and governance. In the Orenburg region an important role in the organization of research, including ethnographic, played Orenburg Boundary Commission, which operated from 1798 to 1859.
