Prerequisites discipline

The course "Psychology and Human Development" does not require special training and is designed to study the students of all ages and all professions University enrolled in the number of university students.

Post-requisites of this course subject matters which will be studied in the subsequent: Pedagogic, Theory and practice of educational work, Age psychology, etc. Major importance of the course "Psychology" is an assimilation by future bachelors of its leading role in formation and disclosure of creative potential professionally – the focused personality on the basis of interrelation between these subject matters.

Brief description of the discipline

This discipline is a required component of the module "Fundamentals of educational activities."

Psychology has special qualities compared to other disciplines. As for knowledge of its own a few. However, with the range of phenomena that are studied in this science, faced it all: it is presented in the form of our own feelings, images, ideas, phenomena of memory, thinking, speech, will, imagination, interests, needs, emotions, and dreams. The course "Psychology" equips students with the knowledge, abilities, skills necessary for professional teaching activities. Future teacher it is important to understand what they want, what can people around him how to navigate the personality traits, motivations, memory and thinking, character and temperament. In the development of the course taken into account that issues professional educator, age-appropriate students included in general psychology in detail in the course "Professional Psychology," "Social Psychology", etc.

This course aims to: the formation of future teachers of psychological knowledge to enable them to properly analyze the psychic reality and adequately relate the theoretical understanding of basic scientific concepts of general psychology with the practical aspects of professional educational activities.

Course objectives: 1) development of students systematic knowledge of the most common categories of psychological science, directly or indirectly related to the education and training of students as well as the methods of psychological research, the potential need for educational activities, and b) development of the applied psychological knowledge and skills in order to self-development, enhance the professional success, both in the educational work with students, and in everyday situations.



As a result of studying of this discipline students should know:

- scientifically reasonably to analyze mental reality, the main categories of the general psychology and psychological regularities;

- main mental functions and their physiological mechanisms;

- adequately to correlate theoretical ideas of essence of the mental phenomena to practical aspects of professional pedagogical activity;

- to realize a role of consciousness and consciousness of the person;

The student should be able:

- to give the psychological characteristic of the personality, her temperament, abilities, character;

- to interpret own mental conditions, to own the simplest receptions of mental self-control, to realize regularities of the interpersonal relations in a life and the organized collective;

- forms, means and methods of psychological activity;

To own elementary skills of the analysis of teaching and educational situations of definition and the solution of pedagogical tasks, both in a family, and in the organized collective.

Process of studying of discipline is directed on formation of the following competences:

à) key competences (KP)

• To own knowledge in the field of modern psychology in professional activity;

• To own receptions of psychological protection, elementary psychological knowledge for further professional activity;

• To be capable to a pedagogical reflection, to aspire to continuous improvement of research culture.

b) subject competences (SC)

• To own knowledge in the field of psychology, communication strategy, to be capable to cooperation;

• To own abilities of use of innovative technologies at carrying out lessons at school;

• To be capable to develop an estimated material in a subject.

c) special competences (SC)

• To own knowledge, skills of application of theoretical knowledge in professional activity;

• To understand occurring mental processes and conditions, ability to self-criticism and self-image;

• To own abilities of an initial psychological assessment of the person, to make a psychological portrait;

• To own abilities to find non-standard and alternative decisions, to be capable to critical thinking, a creative approach in realization of ideas;

• To own knowledge of normative documents in the field of education (standards, the program in a subject), abilities to develop methodical documentation (the calendar and thematic plan in a subject, etc.)
