The aims of the lesson * Educational: To introduce students with a new material about compound sentence Consolidation of all learnt materials. To enrich student`s knowledge concerning the theme. * Development: To develop understanding, logical thinking & students abilities in speech. To control the student`s speaking without mistakes, help them to make conclusions. · Upbringing: To teach friendly and to work with group and to help each other, to learn give advice to each other in the different situation and try to remember yours life .
The result of the lesson for the teacher v Pupils can learn their meaning without any mistakes ; v To work with group and to listen each other; v They can discuss their opinion themselves.
The main idea of the lesson They can find the main idea of the lesson.
1-action. Warming-up (1 minute) Forgotten letters. Students should find the words with the given letters. 2-action. Asking home task. Read the cartoons, using simple sentences and the website www.toondoo.com 3-action . Dividing into groups (4 minutes) They divide into three groups with phones. 4-action. Review preview theme. Working with cards. In every group has the leader, and they ask read the question and tasks from the cards. 5-action. Introducing new theme. Compound Sentence. In English grammar, a compound sentence is a sentence that contains at least two independent clauses. Compound sentences can be formed in three basic ways: (1) using a coordinating conjunction (and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet) to join the main clauses; (2) using a semicolon, either with or without a conjunctive adverb; (3) on occasion, using a colon. The compound sentence is one of the four basic sentence structures. Compound Sentences with Coordinating Conjunctions · She did not cheat on the test, for it was not the right thing to do. · I think I will buy the red car, or I will lease the blue one. · I really want to go to work, but I am too sick to drive. Compound Sentences with a Semicolon · Joe made the sugar cookies; Susan decorated them. · The sky is clear; the stars are twinkling. · · {The semicolon or semi-colon (;) is a punctuation mark that separates major sentence elements. A semicolon can be used between two closely related independent clauses, provided they are not already joined by a coordinating conjunction. Semicolons can also be used in place of commas to separate items in a list, particularly when the elements of that list contain commas} · 6-action. “Tree of sentences”.Each group have sentences of compound sentences, they should differentiate it and put on Tree of sentences.   7- action . Work in group. Pupils write sentences using pictures. They should write fully story using these pictures. 8-action. Practice. Work individually with worksheets. 8-action Evaluation and assignment. Giving the home task . Get one picture and using this picture create own story using compound sentences. To give up students and integrate to English lesson. Check home works and correct mistakes. Pupils read the tasks and draw these sentences. Pupils work with worksheets and share their answers with other groups. Pupils read their sentences, and put it in right tree.
