“Aquabiennale 2016” is the 7^th biennial exhibition of watercolour paintings in Petrozavodsk (Karelia Republic, Russia). Artists from Russia and from all over the world – those for whom watercolour is the professional sphere of interest, the method of comprehension of reality and the personal way of world outlook expressing – are invited to take part in this international show. The aims of the “Aquabiennale” project are to support the art of watercolours, to research its current situation and to promote its further development not only in the Republic of Karelia but also abroad of it, to link artists from different countries and let them know more about each other.

TERMS OF ENTRY

1.Each participant may submit watercolour artworks made in the last 2 years (2015-2016). Some minimal use of mixed media (extra graphic materials besides watercolours) is permitted. Artworks in pure watercolour technique will be preferable.

2.The maximum size of the submitted art-works must be not more than 60x70 cm.

3. The registration fee - 17 USD. Payment can be made by Western Union to the coordinator of the exhibition – Natalia Egorova, Petrozavodsk, Russia.

The deadline for payment is the 31^st of March 2016.

4. The selection of the submitted artworks will be organized in 2 rounds:

4.1. ROUND 1:

4.1.1. The deadline for entry for the Round 1 is the 31^st of March 2016.

Each participant may submit up to 6 watercolour artworks in digitized form (TIFF, 300 dpi, CMYK, 18 cm. by the big side, each image should be sent as a separate file) for Round 1.

The artworks should be accompanied by the Entry Form completed in English or Russian and signed by the artist. The names of the files with images should correspond with the titles of the artworks in the Entry Form.

4.1.2. Digital images (photos) of the artworks and files of the Entry Form should be sent to the organizing committee.

Please, attach not more than 2 images to 1 e-mail message. If you are sending more than 2 “heavy” files, please, send them in several separate messages.

4.1.3. Not more than 3 watercolours can be selected from the 6 submitted files to take part in the Round 2.

The list of the artworks selected during the 1^st Round will be published on the website http://gvz-ptz.ru/ or sent by e-mail to the artists not later than 15.04.2016.

4.2. ROUND 2:

4.2.1. The participants, whose artworks were selected during Round 1, may take part in Round 2 if registration fee is paid.

4.2.2. The deadline for entry for the Round 2 is the 31^st of May 2016.

4.2.3. Originals of the watercolours selected during Round 1 and Entry Forms (completed in English or Russian and signed by the artist) should be sent to the organizing committee by Post.

Please, do write on the parcel/ tube/ envelope:

4.2.3. All the artworks submitted for the Round 2 should have the following information on the back side: artist’s full name, the title, year of creation and sizes of the work, – in accordance with the completed Entry Form.

5. The organizing committee takes no responsibility for the damage caused to the artworks during transportation.

6. You are welcome to send additional information about yourself (CV, copies of publications, artist’s photo, thoughts about water-colour, etc.). You can use the back side of the Entry Form for that too.

7.The artworks selected by the organizing committee will be exhibited from 28.10.2016 till 04.12.2016 at the City Exhibition Hall (Petrozavodsk, Lenin Avenue 26) and at “Vyhod” media-centre (Petrozavodsk, Karl Marx Avenue 14).

8.Each participant of “Aquabiennale 2016” who has paid the registration fee will get a copy of the catalogue which will be dispatched in December 2016 - February 2017.

9.The authors of the best 10 watercolours exhibited during “Aquabiennale 2016” will be honored with a laureate diploma.

10. Organizing committee has a right to use the submitted artworks and materials for promotional purposes connected with the project.

11. Organizing committee is planning to include the full list of participants of the exhibition with their e-mail addresses into the catalogue. If you have no objections to publishing your e-mail address in the catalogue of “Aquabiennale 2016”, please, put your signature in the necessary box of your Entry Form.

12. After “Aquabiennale 2016» is over (after 04.12.2016) the artworks will be returned to the authors by Post (in case of registration fee paid).
