Different types of advertising

Nowadays we are living in a consumer society where advertising plays an important role, so, we can't imagine our life without any advertisement. It greatly affects people's life and shopping habits, it provides us with different kinds of information, connected with all sorts of the innovations.

Advertising in business is a form of marketing communication used to encourage, persuade, or manipulate an audience (viewers, readers or listeners; sometimes a specific group) to take or continue to take some action. The purpose of advertising is to convince customers that a company's services or products are the best, enhance the image of the company, point out and create a need for products or services, demonstrate new uses for established products, announce new products and programs, reinforce the salespeople's individual messages, draw customers to the business, and to hold existing customers.
Modern advertising appeared in fifteenth century but it was used even 2500 years ago in Ancient Greece. To Russian language the word 'ðåêëàìà' came from Latin word 'reclamo', which means 'to shout loudly'. First advertisement in ancient world was oral, as it was the best way to draw attention and give information to all people.

Actually, for many years from 1622, when 'Weekly news' - the first newspaper with advertisement appeared, the only way of advertising known to people was print advertising but in our century advertising companies invent innovations almost every day. As our world is fast developing, advertising is rapidly changing and modern mass-media offer us a great variety of ways of advertising.

Virtually any medium can be used for advertising. Commercial advertising media can include printed flyers and rack cards, radio, cinema and television adverts, web banners, mobile telephone screens, shopping carts, web popups, skywriting, bus stop benches, human billboards and forehead advertising, magazines, newspapers, town criers, sides of buses, banners attached to or sides of airplanes, in-flight advertisements on seatback tray tables or overhead storage bins, taxicab doors, roof mounts and passenger screens, musical stage shows, subway platforms and trains, stickers on apples in supermarkets, shopping cart handles, posters, and the backs of event tickets and supermarket receipts. Any place an "identified" sponsor pays to deliver their message through a medium is advertising.

Of cause, we all notice almost every of this kind of advertising, especially advertisements on TV or in the magazines and Internet sites, but the most popular and one of the fastest-grown ways of advertising is outdoor advertising, which has doubled its market share in recent years. Outdoor advertising's appeal is growing as TV and print are losing their. Moreover, it is the only useful alternative to the TV advertising and it is also cheap.

The world of outdoor advertising billboards, transport and so-known street furniture like public toilets and bus-stops is worth about $18 billion a year and it is just 6% of all the world’s spending on advertising nowadays. This sort of innovation has attracted a new class of advertiser. Recent data shows that in Britain alcohol and tobacco have been replaced by entertainment and clothing as the big outdoor advertisers, like car makers, are using it in new ways. Practically attractive to the new advertisers is street furniture, the fastest growing segment of the outdoor market.

Computer support

Computer support is the process of providing diagnostic, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair services to a computer or similar device. It allows end users to seek and receive specialized computer maintenance and management services, either locally from their home/office or remotely via the Internet.

Computer support differs from technical support, which is a general term for IT-based support services.

Computer support is provided by a computer repair/support technician or similar service provider. Assistance ranges from general operations of a computer and its related software, hardware or network issues. Local computer support resolves problems by physically operating the computer, while remote support generally requires logging into an end user's computer to analyze the query or problem.

Interactive computer support also may include guidance over the phone, email or chat.

How to fix most common problems with a computer?

1: My computer is slow

There may be several reasons for a slow computer; however, the most common is lack of maintenance. Fragmented data, a corrupted registry, spyware and dozens of unnecessary programs running at the same time, easily reduce the speed and performance of your PC.

Tips: Keep track of your programs. Remove those of which you never use or shut them down when you've used them. Clean your registry with one of the many free or paid applications available for Windows. Also, run Disk Defragmenter and stop unwanted programs starting with Windows.

2: My computer freezes

Also a common problem, but it is far more serious than a slow PC. In most cases it is caused by viruses, especially spyware that has been installed on your computer.

Tips: Use antivirus software

3: I forgot to backup my data

Unfortunately, backup is still an overlooked security task for many home users - until the day it is too late. Important documents, photos, music libraries and emails are automatically stored on your computer's hard drive, which is a mechanical and electrical device. When it breaks down (and it is when, not if) this data will disappear forever. Even if you have a warranty from the hard drive manufacturer, it does not cover your data, it only replaces the hard drive with a new one.

Tips: Find a solution that automatically makes backup to an external hard drive, server or cloud service.

4: I get bombarded with adware and my home page has changed

Many do not notice that they often accept a new toolbar when they download free programs such as Adobe Reader. For example Adobe Reader now offers the Google Chrome internet browser as part of its download. Whilst Adobe and Google are reputable companies, other free downloads may install toolbars or other applications that can contain malicious code that hijacks your browser and changes all the settings. So your home page for example is changed to another website that you can't then change back. At the same time, annoying pop-up messages with advertisements for products you've never asked for are constantly displayed on screen every time you try to browse the internet.

Tips: Read the conditions before downloading a new program and pay attention to what you allow. If damage is done, it can be difficult to remove the program. The best bet is to follow the instructions found when looking for information about the specific problem on Google. There are probably others who have had the same challenge and have described the solution on the internet. If you are not so technical, professional PC support may be the solution.
