Ways and methods used by companies to provide job satisfaction to employees.

The role and meaning of business in society. Corporate Social Responsibility.

Corporate Social Responsibility is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. The goal of CSR is to embrace responsibility for the company's actions and encourage a positive impact through its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere who may also be considered as stakeholders.

Business can implement different functions and roles, it has both individual and social aspects e.g.:

Business is to make profit for the company’s shareholders.

Business is for the benefit of all the company’s stakeholders.

Business is for the benefit of the whole community.

Business can bring out the worst in people.

Business destroys the natural environment

3. Company mission: what should it be, why is it time-consuming to write it?

Mission is the broadest and highest level of goals. It defines the basic purpose of the organization and outlines why the organization exists. A mission statement is a declaration of the unique purpose and scope of operations that distinguishes the organization from others of its type.

Mission goes within the unchanging ideals which form the business visionandare expressed in the company mission statement.

The mission statement communicates the firm's core ideology, generally consisting of the following three components:

  • Core valuesto which the firm is committed
  • Core purposeof the firm.
  • Visionary goalsthe firm will pursue to fulfill its mission.

Company mission writing is very time consuming because the specific phrasing of the ideology may change with the times, but the underlying ideology remains constant. It is crucial to make a point of writing of a mission the meets this requirements.

Companies spend months and years attempting to clearly define the best mission statement for current circumstances. Companies that have a clear "vision," and management that can articulate it and communicate it to all employees, have the basis for a call–to–action mission statement.

Ways and methods used by companies to provide job satisfaction to employees.

There r a lot of ways and methods for superiors to provide job satisfaction to employees. They can think about some sort of hygiene and motivating factors. The motivating factors (recognition, achievement, responsibility, opportunity for advancement, and the job itself) relate to internal satisfaction and influence employees to improve their performance. The set of hygiene factors (salary, company policies, working conditions, and relationships with other employees) are separate from the job itself.
Another way to affect the employees’ performance and satisfaction is to implement different kinds of fringe benefits or perks. Company can do this in a variety of ways. Some employers are helping their staff fill their leisure hours too. Many offer swimming pools and fitness centres; some arrange guitar lessons or provide garden allotments. Some even lay on company holidays, whisking workers and their partners off to luxury island locations.

Some companies also set the standard for employees to follow in their private lives.

good employers will not do to take the load off their workers' shoulders. Some provide subsidised housekeepers. Some deliver ready-cooked gourmet meals to employees' doors in the evening. Others offer haircuts, free Viagra, cut-price sushi, free ergonomic chairs. One company even provides $10,000 (£6,070) towards the cost of adopting a child.

But the most beneficial perk is solving the problem of work/life balance. Make your employee sure he isn’t expected to work more than 40 hours a week, display urself as an example, and he will be happy with his job.
