1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course “Theory and practice in international communication” is intended for graduate students training in" Journalism "The main objective of the course is to develop knowledge and professional competencies in the theoretical and practical issues of international communication.
Course "Theory and practice in international communication," will allow students to gain a clear understanding of international communications, its functioning in the modern information society, to examine the basic approaches of international communication, information activities of mass media.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE COURSE - mastering the problem of international communication, knowledge of its nature, laying the foundations of communicative competence of future professionals, international journalists and to prepare them for professional careers in the information society.
Objectives of the course - Studying the processes of international communication, disclosure of the value of international communication and its role in global processes;
• Consideration of problems and difficulties encountered in the communication and interaction media differing cultures and the development of strategies to overcome these problems.

Note: One credit equals one hour of classroom academic student work per week (1 credit = 1 Acad. Hour), the SIW-course work, SRSP - self-study student under the guidance of a teacher; SIW - self-study student.
After completing the course, students will be able to conduct a comparative analysis of the international media and apply the acquired skills in specific situations. The course allows students in the process of mastering the course pays special attention to the study of theory and practical skills to successfully implement them in international communication in the information society. International communication skills are acquired through constant practice in the analysis of case studies and problem solving in seminars and in the course of the project.
As a result, training course students should:
- Know the specifics of international communications
- Orientation in international communication technologies,
- To obtain specialized knowledge and skills in the field of international communications.
- Learn the amount of knowledge incorporated in the program and neobzhodimy for the preparation of international journalists, as well as experts in the field of international communications;
- An understanding of the basic types and characteristics of communicative dialogue in the world;

• navigate the challenges of international communication;
• an idea of ​​how to establish productive cross-cultural communication;
• consolidate the skills of independent work with the scientific literature and sources on the proposed teacher issues.
