Chapter 5. Conclusion

Orphans do not have a sweet portion. Life in orphanage without parents is not easy and each of them dreams about having a family and living outside of orphanage. One day the treasured moment comes and orphan leave the orphanage. But the life out of the orphanage is full of difficulties and challenges. Orphans face many problems here. A lot of questions appear immediately: where to study, where to work, what to start from. This is a very difficult and crucial time in the life of orphans and they need preparation for this time and help of the government when going through it.

The aim of this research paper was to find out how the government can prepare orphans for independent life and help them after leaving orphanage. The solutions which were discovered are these: the government could prepare orphans for independent life by implementing a new course in their studies, introducing family type homes for orphans, giving them an opportunity to have part-time job starting from the age of sixteen; also the government can help orphans after leaving orphanage by paying them a monthly welfare during the period of their studies, helping them to get quality education and find job, providing them with place to live, giving them privileges in payment for utilities, for medical care and transportation. The government should pay more attention to the problem of orphans as there are laws in Kazakhstan which entitle orphans to help, but they are not executed.

The results of this research paper are limited as interviews with orphans who have recently left orphanages, who live in Youth houses and with the ones who are going to leave orphanage soon, with workers of orphanages and Youth houses were not conducted. Interviews with these people would be very valuable for this report. Hence this issue needs further investigation taking into account information given by listed people. The interview with directors of Youth Houses would help to find out finally what the criteria for accepting orphans to the Youth House is. This field especially needs further investigation.
