Theme: The Royal Family

Objectives:

Practical: to develop pupil`s skills in listening, reading, translating and writing; to practice speaking in discussion between teachers and pupils, to learn more about Royal Family.

Educative: to educate in pupils the necessity to discover something.

Developing:to develop the skills in reading and writting; to develop pupils` creative memory.

Equipment: pupils` work book, book, a tape recorder, CD, list of new words, pictures.

Procedure

I. Introduction.

T. Good morning boys and girls! Take your seat, please! Are you ready for the lesson? And now we repeat the words which we learned at the last lesson. So listen to me and then repeat.

Wife, aunt, brother, cousin, daughter, father, grandson, husband, mother, nephew, niece, sister, son, uncle.

Ok, I see that you know words.

II. Checking the home task.

Work book. Ex. 4,7 p. 9.

III. Preparation of the topic and task.

T. At the previous lessons we speak with you about our family and friends, today we will speak about The Royal Family. Also we repeat present simple. So, open your exercise-books and write down today’s date and the topic of our lesson.

Queen Elizabeth II

The British Roval Family is over 1,000 years old. Queen Elizabeth is the fifty-fourth monarch since King Alfred in the ninth century.

The Queen lives in Buckingnam Palace in London. She also spends time in two other castels in England. She stays in Balmoral Castle in Scotland in the summer.

Her husband is Prince Philip. They have got four children and seven grandchildren. The Queen's eldest son is Prince Charles. He has got two sons from his marriage to Princess Diana (1961-1997). Charles is now married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

The Queen works very hard. She visits a lot of different countries and she welcomes hundreds of visitors to Buckingham Palace every year. She is head of 620 charities. She also discusses politics with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom every Tuesday.

The Queen loves dogs and horses. At the moment, she has got 14 dogs and 30 racehorses. The Queen hasn't got a lot of free time, but she loves going to the horse races in May and June.
