Pre II Seminars:These are the dates for the options to attend the 4 required seminars. You must attend one of the dates for each of the 4 seminars (see below for the times and location):

FYI: Plan to turn in your Pre-II assignments at one of the Pre-II Assignment Check-in dates
only after completion of all 10 Pre-II intern days. If your Pre-II days will not be complete
until after the last scheduled Pre-II check-in date, then make an appointment to meet at a
later date with the Pre-II instructor, C. Fries.
Spring 2012 Full Internship: Note that you are required to make application for full internship by January 31. You will be expected to make an appointment to interview with the coordinator for your Fall 2011 Full Internship. The appointments will occur March 2-9 (see the schedule below for the times and locations of the interviews). The sign up to schedule an appointment will be the end of February. You will sign up for an appointment with the coordinator who handles the school for your full internship first placement choice. All Pre-II interns are required to attend one of the Full Internship Orientation seminars on either April 28 or 29 (see below for times and locations). Dont miss it, as there is not a make-up session!

To be eligible for and successfully complete Pre-Internship II, the intern must:
Be fully admitted to NSU College of Education, Teacher Education program.Students who transferred after taking the equivalent of EDUC 3313, Clinical Teaching/Pre-Internship I, MUST be fully admitted to Teacher Education BEFOREthe first required Pre-Internship II seminar to be eligible for placement.
Have taken, passed, and provided the Clinical Education office, a copy of my OGET and have an official degree plan on file.
Have at least a 2.5 GPA overall, and a grade of C or better in the following: EDUC 3313 Clinical Teaching/Pre-I, and all courses in my major and professional education area.
Have successfully completed Portfolio Checkpoint #1. Students who transferred after taking the equivalent of EDUC 3313, Clinical Teaching/Pre-Internship I, MUST contact College of Education Assistant Dean concerning meeting requirements for Portfolio Checkpoint #1 prior to Seminar #2.
Enroll in Education 4032, Pre-Internship II. Begin Pre-II internship field experiences after attending the first Pre-II seminar (see calendar for seminar dates).
Must be concurrently enrolled in or have taken oneof the following courses: EDUC 4353 Teaching Methods and Practices, or ELED 4563 Management of the Elementary Classroom & Curriculum, or ECED 4513 Organization and Implementation of Early Childhood Programs, or SPED 4563 Methods and Case Studies Mild/Moderate Disabilities.
Have taken or be concurrently enrolled in Reading 4063 Introduction to Reading and Writing Assessment if identified as an elementary, early childhood, or special education major;
Complete full internship Spring 2012 and have all required coursework successfully completed by May 2012. Be advised-- If all degree requirements are completed by Spring 2012 semester, an exception is that three (3) credit hours may be taken concurrently with full intern teaching, provided the courses are not those needed for ePortfolio checkpoint 1 or 2 and receipt of departmental approval. Requests for taking 4-6 hours must be submitted in writing to the Director of Clinical Education and approved by the COE Review and Retention Committee as well as from the Department. Any hours taken cannot interfere with the hours of the internship school day.
Attend the four (4) required EDUC 4032 Pre-Internship II seminars. Attending all seminars is required to receive a passing grade in EDUC 4032.
Must be able to have one day a week, for 10 weeks, to do my Pre-II internship all day (approximately 7-8 hours) at a public or private school site. Note: There are alternate requirements if approved for the International Pre-II option.
Will be required to drop Education 4032 if all of the above requirements are not meet.
