Full-time postgraduate students, undergraduates and junior college students are welcomed to take part. You should form a team with 1-4 members, irrespective of degree association, and 1-2 instructing teachers.

Competition Scheme

Players need to carry out an innovative design plan which is related , but not limited to, one of the technologies including:Gas Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Completion Engineering, Production Engineering, Surface Engineering (Gas Storage and Transportation), HSE, Economic Evaluation around the theme of the Design Contest—Shale Gas Development.

You may choose, for example, (a) designing softwares that are used in the shale gas development, (b) making an innovation design for one process of shale gas development, or (c) designing equipments or tools used in the petroleum engineering industry as well as shale gas development. After finishing the work, players should submit your relevant design specification, design paper or software program (if any), whatever is applicable to your specific project and your scheme. For detailed information, please refer to ‘2015 CPEDC WORK FORMAT AND REQUIREMENTS. pdf’. Players can refer to the following problem topics. Problems shown below are just for reference only. Players can also choose any other problems, as long as it is related to shale gas development.

List of problem topics for reference:

1.The economic evaluation development model of shale gas development.

2.Airflow transfer mechanism in shale matrix.

3.Stress Sensitivity of shale formation.

4.Shale gas horizontal well staged hydraulic fracturing technology.

5.The crack initiation and extension of shale gas reserviors.

6.Production researches of shale gas reserviors based on the coupling of natural factures and hydraulic fractures.

7.Models of shale gas production decrease.

8.Dynamic evaluation methods of shale gas.

9.Transient prediction model of crack extension.

10.The inversion method of fracture network.

11.The model of shale gas adsorption and desorption.
