V. get wound up (informal) v. freak (out) (informal)

 

To get wound upis to get very upset or stressed, either because people are winding you up on purpose, or because something annoying is happening.

eg He got wound up because everyone was criticising his work.

 

To freak out is to behave wildly, because you are panicking, angry, or losing control.
eg She freaked out when she heard the news. She was screaming, throwing plates, and kicking the furniture.

 

Q: Do you get wound up in traffic jams ?

A: Yes, I really get wound up in traffic jams.


Q: What about if your computer crashes before you’ve saved your work ?

A: Again, yes./Yes, I get wound up if my computer crashes before I’ve saved my work.
