6. Prepare the paragraph beginning with “Emotions were running high …” up to “…after they explained what indelible meant” (p. 21) for excellent reading and translate it into Ukrainian in writing.

 

7. Recount the context where the following sentences were used, use them in the situations of your own:

  7. In what way did Mother try to bring her father back to life?
  8. What proves that Grandad couldn’t come to terms with life after his wife’s death?
  9. What illness had Nan Robinson suffered from?
  10. Who convinced David to spend summer holidays at Grandad’s house?
  11. What was the first lesson Grandad gave David on his arrival?
  12. What did Grandad mean by saying “Time to get your bearings”?
  13. Whom did David and Grandad meet on their trip round the town?
  14. What were David’s impressions of the first day at Grandad’s? Do you think he is going to enjoy his stay there?
