Course policy

 

The level of educational achievements of students is determined by the final assessment, formed from the rating (60% of the grade) and exam scores (40%). Rating is formed as a result of current and boundary control of the academic period (15 weeks). Thus academic achievement measured at 100 point scale for each completed task (response to current employment activity in practical tasks, homework, SIW midterm control, etc.). And the final point is applied arithmetic mean calculation the sum of all scores obtained for the control period.

Monitoring involves the control of attendance, control of performance practice, homework. Taking into account the activity of the student in the classroom: for attendance, maintaining summaries, for the timely execution of tasks, asking questions to the teacher, independence of judgment, critical thinking and creativity. Evaluates all types of student participation in practical classes and SIWwT: analysis of the different language units of the levels, the implementation of practical and test tasks, answers to questions of the teacher, parse, and active participation of the student during the class, independent creative work in the form of training and protection of CDS, etc..

Castings missed classes and the elimination of arrears of basic control measures (missed for valid reasons) are carried out on 7 and 14 weeks on boundary control. Classes missed without a valid reason, and later worked in the ranking are not involved and any points are not added.



Total ratings of progress and attendance at the end of each week, the teacher put down through a local network of the University in an electronic journal.

The aim of the stage is to teach the students to understand the main ideas of clear messages, made on different topics in literary language improving typically at work, study, leisure and etc., to form the ability of communication in most cases, which can be improved during visiting the country of studied language, to make up the message on famous or interest themes, to teach stating the thoughts, impressions, events, hopes, to base own opinion and plans for the future.

Subjects of spoken communication in the communicative activity areas are:

Social communication:

- Personal characteristics (composition of CV, temper)

- Family (marriage/divorce, family tree, problems of fathers and children)

- Situations of daily communication (the problem of free time organization \, leisure: theatre, cinema, music, reading, sport, purchase of housing, fast-food, rational nutrition, choice and shopping)

Social and cultural communication:

- Geopolitical picture of the world (modern ecological situation, ecological organizations, Kazakhstan economy, law and order, political structure of English-speaking countries)

- Multicultural society (mass media, role of culture in foreign languages studying, globalization, tourism and services)
