BYLAWS

Of the Student Organization

"Student Scientists’ Society"

 

Article I. Name

 

1.1. The name of this Student Organization shall be "Student Scientists’ Society", hereinafter also referred to as S3 or S-cubed.

 

1.2. S3 is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that unites students, regardless of religion, race, ethnic origin, gender and nationality, aimed at helping students in the writing, preparation and presenting of student work in two areas - technical and social sciences - at conferences and forums in Kazakhstan and abroad. S3 organizes and holds science-related seminars, conferences, round tables and debates.

 

1.3. The Bylaws of the Student Organization "Student Scientists’ Society" is the basic document, according to which the activities of S3 shall be conducted.

 

 

Article II. Goals, Objectives and Values

 

2.1. The goal of S3 is to promote the scientific spirit of academic excellence and intellectual pursuit of self-fulfillment at KBTU, in Kazakhstan and beyond.

 

2.2. To successfully achieve its goal, S3 has set itself the following objectives: organization and development of science and research-oriented events and activities to improve professional knowledge and personal achievements of students.

 

2.3. Values

2.3.1. The main principle and motto of S3 is "Seeing further by Sitting on the Shoulders of Giants", a modified version of Sir Isaac Newton's notable saying: "If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of Giants".

2.3.2. The core values of S3 are scholarship, honesty, responsibility, team spirit, intellectual and scholarly dedication, desire for self-improvement and a friendly environment strengthened by common goals.

 

2.4. To successfully achieve its goal, S3 aims to implement the following mechanisms:

2.4.1. Improving public awareness about scientific research in two directions - technical and social sciences;

2.4.2. Creating conditions for academic and scholarly self-expression and personal achievement, assistance to students;

2.4.3. Coordination of students and research supervisors;

2.4.4. Coordination and assistance to students in the research activities;

2.4.5. Search for students interested in research activities;

2.4.6. Active search for sponsors and partners to support students;

2.4.7. Allowing students to attend conferences, forums, exhibitions abroad;

2.4.8. Assistance with issues such as flights, accommodation, living expenses, visas;

2.4.9. Participation in various student conferences, competitions, seminars, forums, exhibitions, round tables, training seminars, guest lectures, etc.;

2.4.10. Communication with universities, research laboratories and institutes, public authorities and organizations and NGOs, similar organizations and associations in Kazakhstan and beyond;

2.4.11. Expanding and improving the effectiveness of mass participation of students in scientific activity;



2.4.12. Holding seminars and trainings;

2.4.13. Sharing experience and knowledge by young scientists, including PhD holders and graduates with undergraduates;

2.4.14. Management of reporting the students’ achievements, CVs, etc.;

2.4.15. Organization of regular meetings for solving current tasks, as well as summarizing results. Frequency, time and purpose of the meetings is determined by the President of the organization.
