D. Some clarifications about prayer

(i) Prayer and guilt

We don’t start praying and don’t have to start a party- it is being going for all eternity. We just join it.

AT the heart of prayer is what Jesus has done for us. Prayer is a wonderful thing and great privilege. And prayer is the mark that Spirit is within me by desire to pray ( which comes from Spirit ).

Moralism is not preaching.

(ii) Prayer and the Sovereignty of God

Ephesians 1:11

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

Everything is happening according to the purpose of God and His will.

Acts 4:24

And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them,

Sovereign God and absolute. They don’t have problems with God being sovereign and praying to Him for the help and changing the situations.

1) Pointless prayer if God would not be sovereign. Pantheism is a bad example of it- you don’t know who is in charge in Olympus for smth. It makes sense when He is !

2) He chose not to do certain things without prayers of His people.

3) God Himself chose this way to rule the world with integration of His people. Our prayer should be part and part of how He works.

4) Prayer is a deeply and deeply humbling thing !

(iii) Prayer and the Will of God

He is drawing us to fellowship with Him

I promised to do it. Now when we ask to do what He promised we are drown to the fellowship with Him.

Colossians 4:12 wrestling with God in prayer. Prayer is wrestling and struggling thing. In addition, He does draw us in a fellowship by that/ That how God choses to teach us.

Like praying in the name of Jesus. Wrong teaching – the reason why smth didn’;t happen because you didn’t pray hard enough and didn’t pray in the name of Jesus. And prayer become is kind work. You’ve got to believe it. If you believe in impossible things before breakfast smth amazing would happen.

Faith is objective faith which based on God and His faithfulness and it is stupid to manipulate with it.

(v) Prayer and the Kingdom of God

Luke 18:1-8

Any Christian genuine is prayer of God’s kingdom coming.

WHY intercessory prayer is essential

A. It expresses our total dependence upon God

Ephesians 6:12 it is supernatural battle. We need to rely on God alone. Christian ministry is so difficult

You can develop things you understand that nothing without God will happen. And it is really humbling thing.
