I.C.E.” The Story of One Business Task

The Script

 

Scene # 1. The One with Boss

B – for Boss

K – for Catherine (business partner # 1)

I – for Irina (business partner # 2)

Saint Petersburg. Meeting holding in a typical business office. Inscription on the background: “I.C.E” Irina and Catherine Enterprise. Boss enters the room.

B: Good morning, ladies! I’m so pleasant to see you here.

I: Good morning, Mrs Whity!

B: Did you enjoy your summer vacation time?

K: Yeah, that was really terrific!

B: Glad to hear it, since we have a lot of work to deal with! The main item on the agenda is your assignment! As you know, our company is expanding. For this, we are in the great need of using all the external sources. You know, lately we have been experiencing the decrease of new entries hit rate and we really made losses. We have to rebrand our product. So we are one of the largest car-manufacturing companies, the target point is searching for a new image of automobile.

I: Oh, yes! It just dawned on me! We can organize the production of luxurious sports cars for well-off people!

K: Well, I guess it ‘pointless’. We’ve always been distributing middle-class cars…We just need to modify those ones and make them more practical! The target audience is much wider and it is easier to get quick profit in this sphere.

B: Wow wow…Brilliant! We are producing 2 two distinctively different car models: budgetary one and an up-market super luxurious one! I think, you both will contribute to the problem. You are undertaking this task. You will elaborate the idea for both this types!!

I: Okay…What do we need to do then? Will the production be placed in our country?

B: Not now. I can just say, you will have to travel on business much! (SMILE) And of course you will find yourself in a different social environment and converse with local people. Adopt your own set of skills to a current situation. Underpin your every action with professionalism and highly qualified goal orientation! Make sure you are flexible in approaching cultural issues. Show your punctuality, adaptability! SO Don’t let me down!

K: Yes, we’ll try to justify your trust!

 

 

Scene # 2. The One with Brainstorming

Two businesswomen are in the doubt about the ways of implementing the idea.

 

I: Well, Ira, I just have no idea what to start with!

K: Calm down! We just need to reduce this brain-teasing task to several consistent parts. I guess, the first point to be covered is the technical side of the question.

I: You are right! We need to fill the concept of new car with brand new innovations!

K: Yes, and you know what? Japanese developments lie at the root of nearly any innovation! We’ve already had a practice of establishing relationships with the Asian partners! We should certainly resume our Asian connections!

I: Very well! And who are death on the latest fashions?

K: Italians, of course!

I: Yes! They are as passionate about the idea as truly loyal to brands! The appearance of each model apparently needs to be thoroughly developed by Italian specialists!



K: And as for the advertising…We can undoubtedly turn to the USA partners! They are experts at promotion!

I: Great idea!

So we get the versatile profile of a product development. What about the distribution? Where we are to meet a ready sale?

 

K: I believe, the Arabian countries demonstrating extremely high living standards can prove to be a really profitable area. We can offer them to sale our luxurious product! Sheikhs know how to make a lot of money and spent it with chic…

 

I: Yes, and as for the middle class car…We can provide very reasonable prices. To my mind, we can try it in South America countries. Brazil, for example… This market is a soaring opportunity.

 

K: Indeed, I totally agree with you

So it should be much fun! We will go round the world searching for new contacts, unbelievable experience, jaw-dropping emotions and fresh ideas for this challenging venture!

I: And the first point of destination is Japan, the mindset of consciousness, constant determination and innovative work as well…
