10. You have just come on a visit to one of your friends. The table is beautifully laid. Speak about it.

11. You leave the house forgetting to turn off the water tap.

12. You have rented a furnished apartment. Write to your friend what you like and dislike about it.

13. You are at your friend's house. It is large and comfortable, it is also well furnished. You compliment your friend on the flat and the furniture.

SITUATIONS

 

1. Find out if the living area where your classmate has got a flat is convenient to live in.

2. Work out a plan of an ideal flat for a family of 3 (5) people.

3. Describe your flat.

4. You are to furnish a room in a hotel. Draw a plan and say what furniture you'll put there and of what color.

5. You are to rent a country cottage for your family. Phone the landlady and ask her all possible questions.

6. You've moved to a new flat in a Minsk suburb. You like it. Advise your friend to move to this district. (Speak in favor of the place).

7. You're throwing a house-warming party. Arrange the program of the party.

8. Suppose you were asking an interior designer for advice about decorating and furnishing your flat. What questions would you ask?

9. People live in many different kinds of homes. Some people live in houseboats. Some people live in mobile homes. Some people live in one-family houses. Some people live in apartment houses. In big cities some apartment buildings are homes to hundreds of families. What kind of home do you live in? Write about your home. What do you like most about it?

14. Write a list of housing problems people in your city may have. Discuss it in a group where and how these problems are solved.
