Removal of snow and ice from the surface of an AC.

To remove the ice, do the following works:

1.Frost or dry snow removes by hair brush.

2.Clean the surface of the aircraft from frost, ice or snow by water, heated to a temperature of 60˚C, then spray wet surface plane by ether-aldehyde faction with water.

3.Mixture of water and ether-aldehyde fraction prepare in a special container.

4.To eliminate the ice from the surface of the fuselage, put on the fuselage a special bag, in which serve the hot air from the ground heater. Then move the bag to the next section, and the wet fuselage skin wipe by napkin

Ice, frost, snow can be removed also using heat engines, blowing the surface with hot air: for pressurized aircraft parts – not more than 50˚C, for other surfaces - no more than 70˚C.

Executing works on removing the icing on the preliminary start is prohibited.

52. Air conditioning of passenger cabins.

To ensure normal temperature conditions in the passenger cabin before landing air is heated or cooled. The air is warmed by outdoor temperatures - 5˚C and below. For this purpose, uses only those heaters that give the output clean heated air (ÌÏÌ – 85Ê, ÀÏ – 5, ÓÏÂ – 1, ÓÌÏ – 350 and air conditioning ÌÒÕÌ – 2 – 50 etc.) Tu-134, 154, IL-62, IL-86 use for this purpose on-board auxiliary power units. The heater sleeves are attached to a special hatches provided in the construction of cabins, and if they do not - through the doors. At the same time all the doors and luggage hatches must be closed and the door to the cockpit and window leaf canopy - open to permit air circulation. Air from the heater is supplied with a temperature of + 80˚ C and as long as the temperature in the cabin will not be raised to +15˚ C. The air should enter through the sleeves, made of canvas or cloth 237K. It is forbidden to use sleeves, covered with fiberglass from the inside, because in this case, to the cabin with air will enter fibers of fiberglass, which is unacceptable.

Means used to heat the cabins must give clean air without the smell of combustion products. Once a month check the content of the air stream of carbon monoxide, which shall not exceed 0.02 ... 0.03 mg / liter. When you see the smell of combustion products or smoke in the cockpit, immediately turn off the heater, disconnect the sleeves from the aircraft flange hatches, open all the doors and ventilate the aircraft, then find and eliminate the cause of air pollution or apply for heating the cabins other serviceable tools. At heating the cabins as well as at heating engines technique should be about heater, watching the work of the heater and having on hand serviceable fire-fighting equipment. Make sure that the heater sleeves are not lying on the ground (snow), were not twisted and crushed.

Cooling of cabins produced with an air temperature in them + 25˚ C and above. As a source of cold air conditioners use ground type ÀÊÂ, ÌÒÌÕ – 2 – 50 and other devices that can serve to the cabin clean cold air. The air is cooled to as long as its temperature will be 5 ... 8 ° C below ambient temperature, but not less than + 20 ° C. As heating so cooling of air in passenger cabins must be completed in 1 ... 2 minutes before boarding.
