America without sports is simply impossible to imagine.

Considering the fact that every culture has some form of sports, I should be more specific and say; America without either football, or baseball wouldn’t be America at all, but just another country like Russia.

Sports are a major part of many Americans daily life and we participate in countless sporting events from when we are little, until we’re frozen from arthritis. And there’s just nothing more American than eating a hotdog at a baseball game, or screaming at the TV with your friends during the Super Bowl.

4. We grew up playing games like cops and robbers, considered recess to be the most important time of the day and Saturday morning cartoons were never missed.

Facts About Americans: Neighborhood Games Rule

I remember playing cops and robbers with the local neighborhood kids and one afternoon, when a new kid joined us for the first time, he asked if we could explain the game and its rules before beginning. The rest of us were completely stunned that he’d never heard of, or played this game before.

We thought everyone knew what it was, but he wasn’t from the U.S. and had never heard of it until meeting us. It obviously didn’t take him long to catch on…the game’s concept is pretty self-explanatory. I’ll give you a hint…it involves cops and robbers (and sometimes high-speed bicycle chases).
