Time capsules

Good day! You are witnesses of the historical event! We are students of the Oxford University and we are going to bury time capsule. As you can see, our location is Hyde Park.

The year is 2014 and we are burying this capsule because we want to show people in the future what our life looks like now, save memory about the present, so we put there items that might be interesting to our descendants.

We are including things from different categories: culture, technology, politics and world affairs, home life and language. And now a few words about the items. We put data storage with modern music and films on it. Films are about the future life. It`s only an imagination of screenwriters, but I think some of the predictions will come true.

Our science doesn`t stop and we have many technical inventions. So we decided to put the new model of Smartphone and laptop. Maybe they are grandparents of future equipment.

Politic situation in the world always changes. Our time capsule contains newspapers with the description of the last political, cultural events and many photos of these events. There are also many photos of nature, different seasons, buildings, cities and ordinary people. Future people will compare their world with our present world.

We put things that we use in everyday life: mirror, stuffed animals, plates, cups, pieces of clothes, magazines. Time capsule has an instruction how to use all things that are in it. But how will other people understand our language? Of course, we didn`t forget to put dictionary and grammar textbook there.

We told children to draw pictures and show how they imagine the future. Students of our university wrote letters for people from future. In my opinion, the next generation will probably enjoy reading them.

And the main thing -the capsule should be opened in 2084 year!
