On the way to Hunan dream – environmentally friendly society.

By Tatiana Telegina (Russia) Dec 19, 2014

Living in Changsha already for 3 months I still continue to discover this unbelievably harmonious city.Applying for participation in the Photo Contest I expected to enjoy unfamiliar to me picturesque views of my host-city Changsha and its suburbs. The most unexpected thing that happened to me is that I got a unique chance to broaden my horizon by obtaining knowledge and visual experience about application and implementation of environment protective and energy saving technologies.

The visit to resource-saving and environmentally-friendly enterprises was co-organized by the Hunan Official Portal and the Construction and Management Commission for “Two-oriented” Society in Chang-Zhu-Tan Pilot Zone of Hunan Province.

The first point of our destination was Changsha Huashijie Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. It is one of the earliest Chinese enterprises researching and solving the problems of heavy metal water and soil pollution. The company produces and designs the water cleaning and monitoring level of pollution equipment. The nice young lady introduced the company and its laboratories to us. I was glad to hear that several years ago the enterprise started to monitor the level of heavy metal pollution in Xiangjiang River, as well to try to find the necessary treatment to clean the soil under the water. The most surprising and attractive thing about the company is that its employees are mainly university graduates with fresh knowledge and ambitious thirst for work. The laboratories we visited look new, well equipped and clean. This company seems to be a very attractive place to work!

The second point of our excursion was Hunan Farsoon High-Technology Co., Ltd. This quite young company was founded in 2009. Nevertheless now it enjoys the world’s third place in Selective Laser Sintering equipment after 3D Systems in the USA and EOS in Germany. The company has also developed its own line of Laser Sintering nylon materials, and nowadays is the only enterprise in the world that provides both Selective Laser Sintering equipment and materials.

It was the first time in my life to see and to hold in my hands3D-printed models. This technology allows producers to make money economy when developing new products. The real piece of machine could be replaced by this cheap and quickly produced 3D model, in order to realize itsconcrete size and design peculiarities. The young and cheerful representative of the company let us get acquainted with laser machines and technological process as well. They call it “fireworks” when a machine is being producing some 3D model. When laser melts the synthetic powder it creates a multiple amount of fire splashes, really amazing view.

Laser machines occupy a whole hall in the building. Each of them is equipped with a rather big window to have opportunity to watch the process. Every machine is operated by a computer. The producing process looks like some “enterprise from the future”: a big and clean room with machines operated by computer and easily observed by a man.

The third company we visited was Hunan TianTong Non-corrosiveness Chimney Co., Ltd. This high-tech enterprise deals with scientific research, manufacturing and engineering design of chimneys. The technologies that were presented to us in this company, aim at reducing dust from chimneys, reduce corrosiveness of the chimney smoke. I was surprised by some easy and cheap solutions. For instance, if you make the smoke that come from the chimney go not straight-forward, but make a spiral, heavy dust falls down and doesn’t go to the atmosphere.

Having visited three environmentally-friendly enterprises our group enjoyed a nice launch, and then visited an excursion in the environment museum at the Orange Island in Changsha. The guide retold us the Hunan dream about clean and healthy environment, realization of the Chinese Government strategy of nature preservation and protection.

To sum it up, the excursion contributed much to broading our horizons concerning environmentally friendly high-tech enterprises and their technologies.

I sincerely like and support the idea of Chinese environmentally friendly society! Look forward to the day I will have possibility to enjoy swimming in Xiangjiang river!
