At SibFU we are proud to be the home of innovations in a wide variety of fields. Our research has resulted in outstanding breakthroughs and discoveries in fields ranging from earth sciences to radio physics, biosphere studies, engineering and computing. With the creation of a new, larger university, its faculty, staff and students welcome new and exciting challenges.

The International Office at Siberian Federal University offers a Russian Language Program to help students strengthen their Russian skills so that they can pass their university entrance examinations or improve their academic performance. The OIA also provides the language testing needed to apply for Russian citizenship.

Where is SibFU?

Siberian Federal University is in the city of Krasnoyarsk in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Siberia. The city, home to about one million people, is lively and exciting with many museums, shops, restaurants, cultural and sporting events. In addition to having lively social scene, Krasnoyarsk is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, with the “Stolby” Nature Reserve within a city bus ride. More than $50 billion are expected to be invested in the region to develop national projects such as exploring the Vankor oilfield and constructing several hydroelectric power stations in the Angara region. From specializing in traditional resource-based industries like mineral resources, timber harvesting, hydro and heat power generation, the region has responded to global economic shifts with emerging new sectors such as processing industries, chemicals and ICT.
